Okay, okay, okay. Drama queen day over, I survived. Amaaaazing.
I mustered up the energy to go to the Hiero final, and talked with Prof. Selden before he handed the papers out--he told me that to take an Incomplete and take the final after spring break would involve me getting a doctor's note and filling out paperwork and a lot of hassle, so he said I should try out the final and if I didn't feel like I could do it I should talk to him then. So I did, I gave it a shot, and of course couldn't remember hardly any of the transliteration. I did recognize the passage, though, and most of the translation, so I did the best I could. After I'd done all I could remember, I went up front and told him straight up that I didn't feel that what I'd done was up to my normal standard; I don't know what I was expecting, but he took my final, looked it over, and told me that what I'd done was perfectly fine and that I didn't need to worry. So hey, go figure.
So after that I chugged out the last dregs of my explanatory paper for Russian Modernism and had Jessica run me up to campus so I could turn in my art piece along with the paper. Naturally, Prof. Nickell wasn't in his office even though he'd said he would be there all day, so I thanked heaven I'd chosen a canvas small enough to fit in his box and hightailed it out of there. Getting through security in my condition was kind of hellish, since I felt like warmed-over death and quite nauseated to boot since I hadn't been able to eat anything all day, but I did make it without keeling over. I feel a lot better today, especially since I don't have any schoolwork to stress over.
Matt called a few minutes ago to say that Andrew's grandmother is in a coma so they wouldn't be visiting until sometime next week. I'm sorry that I won't be able to see him, but poor Andrew. I hope they have a good time when they are able to drive up.
In a little bit Mom and I are going to head over to NOAH to walk some dogs, and I'll finally be able to see the little long-coat Chihuahua they fostered over the last month after the big puppy mill raid. Oughter be fun!
matt,
spring break,
washington
