The D and the A and the M and the N and the A and the T and the I O N

Ugghhh. Didn't get much sleep at all last night due to freaking killer cramps, so I skipped Russian Lit this morning in favor of lying in bed in a ball silently whimpering. Felt better at around 10:30, figured I'd give Portuguese a try (though I'd already written in to Prof Nickell that I wouldn't be going to section at 2:00 either), tried to take a shower, failed due to lack of hot water, gave up, translated about half of the article on religion we were supposed to have read, bundled up, and took off. Was almost late thanks to the stupid buses never actually arriving when they're supposed to (and being packed fucking full when they do), but managed to get there just on time. Class cheered me up a lot, thankfully, even though we're now having a quiz on Brazilian geography on Monday along with our second composition being due, which means I have to memorize a bunch of capitals of 26 states I've never heard of (other than Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Acre, Bahia and Minas Gerais). Which means I'll be bothering people to quiz me all weekend. For fun, I think I'll also try to learn all of the demonyms.

Anyway, doing some reading for Lit 101 tomorrow morning now. All of the theoretical stuff is really getting to me...it's all just so heavy and bleh. I feel like a flake saying that, but what can you do? At least all that is interspersed with reading that's actually interesting and thought-provoking at the same time instead of being bogged down with that gross academic didactic language. It has its place, but it all just starts to bleed together after a while.

Going back to Tracy/Stockton for the weekend again, gotta get work started with Jessica on costumes for Fanime. I severely doubt we'll get everything done, but maybe if we work hard we can finish 3 in time. It's just hard because there are so many different things pulling for my attention all at once, and I can't neglect anything for too long or somebody gets mad. I hope this weekend can go by without too much stress or crap. That would be nice.

I think I had a dream last night where my brother and I were fighting some giant evil bird. I should call him.

Edit: I'm a doofus who can't spell, apparently.

russian lit, damn shower, dreams, jessica, portuguese, academic language, matt, those damn painful lady parts, cosplay
