Pretty sure it is. He knows I'm going to stay sober and he can see all these public conversations; his little stunt to make me look worthless caused me to gain sympathizers. He knows he failed so badly that he managed to damage his own cause and bolster my own at the same time.

If anything could make this pain worth it, it's that.
