Karma's (Alleged) Top Ten Favorite Books

Nov 14, 2005 17:53

In 2001 I asked several family members and friends to tell me their top ten favorite books. Here's what Karma told me were her favorite books:

~Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell

~Lord of the Flies by William Golding

~Cry of the Kalahari by Mark and Delia Owens

~The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

~Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

~A Separate Piece by John Knowles

~Canterbury Tales by Chaucer

~On the Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder

~Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M. Auel

~Interview With a Vampire by Anne Rice

~The Belgarian Series by David Eddings

~The Mallorian Series by David Eddings

ps I say "alleged" top ten favorite books because I think she may have lied about one of these titles in order to impress me. For instance, I really doubt she ever read Canterbury Tales. And Lord of the Flies? Ugh! That's our Karma!

Everything else, is really true to herself, I believe. I remember her reading Clan of the Cave Bear over and over again. The only thing I think she really didn't fess up to is her love of the Harry Potter series.
