Am I on the path to enlightenment? 12 hours of television should do it!

Hey! I can't even remember the last time I actually made a post in this here journal. What can I tell ya? Probably nothing that would be of any real interest to any of you...but I am still alive, working in the Bakery at Thrifty Foods, upgrading at Camosun....right now I'm drinking coffee for the first time in weeks. The feeling is indescribable. Lately we've been silly poor, and it has prevented us from going out, so I sit at home, listen to music loudly...also make some music of my own on my ole guitar, more for myself than anything. A couple of weeks ago we went to see the Tragically Hip at the SOFMA. It was a great show, also the band that opened for them I've liked for while. Their called The Sadies from Toronto. They play kind of an alt country, surfer sorta thing. I saw them about a year and a half ago at Central Bar and Grill...it was great. In the past year went to two great musical events... the first was Sasquatch Festival at the Gorge in George, Washington. That show was an amazing three day camp out with bands like NIN, Bauhaus, Ben Harper, Flaming Lips, Beck, Queens of the Stone Age, Tragically Hip, Neko Case, Arctic Monkeys, Matisyahu, and many many more. We're definately going this year as well. Another Highlight was seeing Jonny Cash's band The Tennessee Three play in Nanaimo. They played all the great Johnny Cash songs and the guitarist Bob Wooton sang...and he sounds almost identical to Johnny...so it was just as good in many ways.
Lately however life has been less than incredible, the most exciting thing I've done besides the Hip concert is...looking for rare copies of my favorite books on ebay. Oh, and traveling out to Sidney to jam with an old friend and a bunch of guys he has a band with. That's about it for now. Hope that all of you are well. I don't really talk with anyone anymore. I've become a bit of a hermit, although not totally my own choice. One day I'll venture out again. What else??.....I miss traveling....I love weather, plants, but mostly the ocean...Guinea Pigs are odd creatures....fuck I can't believe the people in charge....CSI Miami is a horrible show and makes me cringe every time it's on the picture box....and hey, it's good to be alive!
