HAPPY GRADUATION RICKY!!!
Ricky's Graduation was AWSOME!!! The night before (on Friday) Big Rick and my Ricky met me after work (I got off just after 10:30pm) at the Cheesecake Factory for a pre-celebatory dinner. It was GREAT food and lots of fun, but it meant getting to sleep at 2am for Ricky and I, and then up again at 5:20am (would have been 5, but we missed the alarm). Still, even on only 3 hours of sleep, and even though the ceremony was 3 HOURS LONG in murderous heat and sun, leaving me sunburned THROUGH my shawl and nylons.....it was well worth it. They had a Great Key-note speaker, a well known man by the name of Tim Russard from "Meet the Press", and seeing my baby walk across stage brought tears to my eyes. I was so proud!!
If you look to the left of the podium (near the flag) you can see him shaking hands with the Dean - i think - right after he walked) followed by some pictures of him hugging his mom, or standing with me, etc.
For those who didn't make it to the party, Ricky got a brand new 2005 Mustang from his mom for graduation (a secret he and I have been forced to keep for about 3 monthes) I have been waiting anxiously to be able to post pics, so here you go!
As you can see, Ricky is ready and waiting to dig into the beautiful cake!
This is a picture of Ricky's best childhood friend (Jill, to the left of Ricky) who he has not seen since they graduated high school. It was a wonderful surprise his mom set up to have Jill and her husand, Rob, make it to Ricky's party.
And of course what party would be complete without Craig hanging on Ricky (a picture we seem to get at every function they are both at!)
And still the night had to end. At 12:30am after a few WONDERFULLY mixed drinks from chris (my brother) some crazy dominos (more fun than you think) and some great fun, everyone finally tired out and we called it a day.
After all others went to bed, Ricky and i stayed up to count graduation money and look over the wonderful gifts once more....getting us to bed at 2am once again....only to be up at 8am to leave and help my mom with store inventory in CV from 10am to 6pm. Ricky, Chris, Craig, and our friend Ryan all went out tonight for guys night out, leaving me to a night of relaxation (not to say i'm not envious of the fun they are no doubt having, but i'm beat!) Definatly been and eventful and exciting weekend. I'm happy to embelish more about the party, i have LOTS more pictures if anyone is interested, but that is the jist. Sorry to those who couldn't make it, you missed a kick-ass party!!
