Man these last few days have been very surreal. I first got the inkling something may be wrong when I got a call from my parents on saturday at 10:23 pm telling me to go get some gas ,cause a huge hurricane might hit, and I may need to leave in a hurry. I thought to myself, " What Hurricane?" To explain, I just got World of Warcraft and had been grinding my charecter since 4pm Friday. So I turn on the news, and I am like WTF. So I go to Exxon and fill up my PT Cruiser. I called around to a few people to see if they needed rides. I get home go to sleep only to be woke up at 9:00 am by a phone call from my Dad pulling rank and pretty much ordering me to come home. I was gonna boogie on home anyway, but my Dad doesn't usually order me to do something unless it is really sierous so I took heed. I packed up a few bags, and put my important stuff into my closet and taped it shut since it does not have a lock. Then I proceded to try to get to I-10 west. While on my way to I-10 west I saw out the right side of my car like an 8 person fight break out over gas. It was surreal. Well then I get on the interstate it takes me 2 hours to GET TO the Achatfalya Brige. Then another 6 hours from thier to get home to Humble, Texas. The entire time I was going home there were like thousands of birds flying west over head, west away from the storm. As an aside the storm was in rearview mirror the entire time. It was like a bad movie. So I finally get home and find out that my entire extended family was calling worried about me. Sort of touching.lol. So on monday and today I just chilled out and watched the hurricane coverage. I called some of my friends from elementry school when I still lived in New Orleans to make sure they were okay. Then about 4 hours ago I saw BOTH OF MY CHILDHOOD NEW ORLEANS HOUSES UNDERWATER. Apparently, the levee busted behind them and it just filled it up. That sort of got to me a bit. I am now just hoping that New Orleans can survive and all the people who cant evacuate will be okay. I mean wow.
