Moral Violation

Jan 24, 2011 12:48

That human perception is not capable of receiving/creating/appreciating truth, inspiration, and awesomeness through contemplation and/or through contact with the world and with others is a bogus bogus bogus bogus lie. That we cannot come to terms beyond this disconnect IS the brokenness of the world. You cannot write me off: neither pride nor any other category of self-righteousness blinds me in this. It is a matter of basic perceptive faculty: a matter memory, understanding, and loyalty --- a matter of agape*, really. Accuse me of optimism if you must: I would rather be an optimist than a dreary, humourless bigot.

Congratulations, you have provoked a moral backlash from me, of all people. I hardly thought it possible .  .  . I think I'll go commune with Brutus on new levels, now.

*a word I learned from dendron_ges, translating to something like 'love of the divine'

love, brutus, pondering/venting, morality
