adding color to a fairly colorless base tutorial pscs2.

First you need to open your program you'll be using. I'll be using PSCS2.

Open up your image. I'll be using THIS screencap of Lilly Kane from Veronica Mars.

Crop and resize your base.





LAYER >> NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER >> CURVES
RGB: 130 / 160

LAYER >> NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER >> COLOR BALANCE
Midtones: 0 / -30 / 100
Shadows: 100 / 0 / -100
Highlights: -100 / 0 / 30

& make sure preserve luminosity is UNchecked.





LAYER >> NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER >> COLOR BALANCE
Midtones: -28 / -26 / -15
Shadows: -12 / 0 / -16
Highlights: 0 / 0 / 0

LAYER >> NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER >> SELECTIVE COLOR
Reds: -100 / 0 / 100 / 0





LAYER >> NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER >> SELECTIVE COLOR
Reds: -100 / 0 / 100 / 0
Neutrals: 25 / -11 / -17 / 5

LAYER >> NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER >> HUE/SATURATION
Saturation: 10





LAYER >> NEW ADJUSTMENT LAYER >> SELECTIVE COLOR
Red: -100 / 0 / 100 / 0

Flatten image.
After this add any effects that you'd like and you're done!
Since I'm sure I confused people with all the different settings I've uploaded the .psd file so that you can download it.
