I watched a program on the Food Network today. It was about the history of hot dogs. The show was interesting. They went to a variety of cities to show how hot dogs are eaten. The thing that shocked me was that the host went from city to city tasting the hot dog just as the people of that particular region would eat it. His 1st stop was New York. Nathan's Famous. The vendor fixed up his dog and the host asked where the ketchup was. The vendor looked as if he was taken aback.
The vendor then says that most New Yorkers prefer mustard to ketchup. He also said that the only ones who ask for ketchup are usually the kids.
The host didn't believe this info so he began asking people in the other cities he visited. Sure enough, most people prefer mustard on their dogs. Mustard!
I couldn't dream of eating a hot dog without ketchup! In fact when and if I do put mustard on my dog it is only a tiny amount.
So now I am curious. Am I the only one with child-like taste buds?
How do you prefer your dogs?
