We loaded up the car and headed to my mom's house. We (Mark, Naomi, Bruuts, and I) were only going to stay one night but when it was time to load the car up I didn't feel like braving the cold weather so Mark left and we stayed behind.
Mark will return tonight and we will leave tomorrow...for real, this time.
Brutus is 3 years old today. He is such a good dog. *sniff*
Yesterday, after my morning bathroom rituals (cleanse, beautify, etc...) I opened the medicine cabinet to apply anti-perspirent and what do I see? Denture Cleanser! The last time I saw my mom was during the Thanksgiving holiday and there was no such cleanser in the cabinet then. I tried to peer into my minds eye to see if my mom's teeth looked too perfect and, I swear, I hadn't noticed anything.
I try to decide how I'm going to bring up what I just saw but I have poor delivery skills so I just came out with it. I asked my mom if she had anything to tell us and then told her what I had seen. She chuckled and said she was embarrassed. I wanted to see her without her new teeth so I said what any other loving daughter would say, "Take'em out."
Boy was I disappointed.
I don't even think what she has qualifies as dentures, they're more like partials and they are all way back teeth. You know, teeth that are way back in your mouth. The teeth that no one gets to see unless you throw your head back when laughing. Anyway, she has 3 on top and 3 on the bottom for a total of 6 teeth. She said the dentist felt a need to replace them because if you are missing teeth the ones you have will begin to spread out.
Now I am wondering why I never got dentures when my wisdom teeth were taken out?
