Vince was very correct when he wrote to me on livejournal a few days ago pertaining to my Spring Break week. I've just been sitting around a-wastin' time, smokin', drinkin'...trying to ease my mind. Haha, well I've pretty much been doing that except the smoking part. I don't smoke, even though virtually all of my college friends do at least a couple of times a week. Well, pretty much the only things I have accomplished this break have been that I finished an online history assignment for my HST 203 class, I went to a doctor's appointment about my high blood pressure, got blood work done today at the hospital to see if my blood/liver/kidneys and such are healthy since I've been on the high blood pressure medicine Toprol XL. Other than that I've had a very lazy, relaxing time.
I'm home in Iron Mountain this week, since last Friday night. I've been wanting to give some of my high school friends calls this week to see if they want to go out and drink and chill, but I've been kind of busy with my immediate family most nights. My grandpa Dave had a complex surgery done yesterday morning at Marquette General as a starting procedure to try and eradicate the two malignant tumors in his liver. The surgery was successful but it left my grandpa in a lot of pain all evening and night. This morning he was still all hooked up to a machine with many tubes and my grandma said that it didn't look like he'd be able to leave the hospital today, so then my uncles and aunt and grandma went out to breakfast, and when they got back to the hospital room, my grandpa was just finishing getting dressed and he said to my family, "let's get the hell out of here." So my grandparents arrived back home to their small, beautiful log cabin in Merriman today around noon my dad said, damn I love my stubborn, tough old Grandpa and Grandma.
Like many of my friends on livejournal, I don't like to discuss my emotions on here. I never have, and probably never will. I have been a bit lonely and bored sometimes since I've been home, but thanks to my four younger siblings who are home and my parents and two dogs, I'm almost never alone nor have a good reason to be bored. I have had a lot of fun hanging out and playing games and sharing stories with Aimee, Tony, Cole, and Lucas. Tomorrow night Vince arrives back home to the U.P. at K.I. Sawyer airport in Gwinn. He is in his first semester of graduate school at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma (tornado country). Hopefully the weather will not get terrible down there this year. Well I'm enjoying myself one sam adams light right now and I'm going to watch an episode of Drawn Together on comedy central and probably a movie before bed. Give me a call tomorrow if any of you want to, I may have time to hang out for a bit for lunch or just to drive around and listen to music. Peace be with you, I'm out.
