Equality is Sexy
Tip of the Hat to Joe My God . From an interview in Parade magazine:
"I have love in my life, a soul mate--absolutely. When someone asked me why Angie and I don't get married, I replied, 'Maybe we'll get married when it's legal for everyone else.' I stand by that, although I took a lot of flak for saying it--hate mail from religious groups. I believe everyone should have the same rights. They say gay marriage ruins families and hurts kids. Well, I've had the privilege of seeing my gay friends being parents and watching their kids grow up in a loving environment."

While, I don't favor this form of protest, I appreciate the straight couples that are taking a stand for equality. The protest I favor was suggested by Dan Savage which boils down to: Get Married, Declare as part of your ceremony that you believe in equality and are upset that not all loving couples an get married, then have lots of children and teach them about equality.
But regardless, Thank you Mr. Pitt for bringing attention to mainstream America (And what is more than Parade?) And thank you for enduring Hate Mail for believe in equality. What is your next film? I'll have to make a point to go see it.
