Well, I'm very happy to hear that Zin is feeling better. I can't believe the treatment you received (or more accurately didn't receive) at the first clinic. HORRIBLE! I hope you are blasting them all over town as well as the internet for their horrible practices.

But I'm glad that your story had a happy ending.

aw thank you so much. we were SO worried and SO happy that it worked out ok.

i haven't really been blasting them so much, only because i kind of feel like it might not be fair, since we only had that one bad experience. plus i don't want to eat my words -- even though i would prefer to not go back there even if we had another emergency, the reality is, it is a LOT closer. if, g-d forbid, our dog needed emergency care and there was some traffic on the garden state parkway, it could probably take us an hour to get up there. we might just have to move :-P

what did they do to make him stop being so puffy? did they ever tell you what/if there was a medical problem involved?

they gave him something to get him to throw up all the food he'd eaten that was distending his stomach. the link in my post shows what could have happened - gastric dilation, which means their stomach twists and they need major surgery to fix that.

I'm so glad Zin is ok - Bloat scares me as boxers are prone to it. The things our dogs do to us and we do for them. Chloe once jumped up on the counter and pulled a package of raw chicken drumsticks I had in the sink and ate them all. $350 and an xray later she was fine.
