CHARACTER INFORMATION-
Canon Character and Series: Captain Bangladesh DuPree, Girl Genius
In-Game Name: Bangladesh DuPree, “Bang,” or just “DuPree”
Age: mid to late 20s
Gender: FemalePosition & Ship: Boatswain, Serenity
Appearance:
Bang is an average sized lady, if a bit full-figured. She has long black hair that is held loosely with a hair tie at about waist level. She is faintly dark-skinned, but her exact nationality is unknown. There is a small skull attached in her forehead at the third eye, and this never comes off. She normally wears a white cap, slacks and white coat with red stripes over a red turtleneck. The turtleneck is undoubtedly red so as not to clash with all the blood she spills. She also wears gold hoop earrings, and her favorite accessory at the moment is a fingerless glove/gauntlet that channels electricity.
Personality:
DuPree is an Evil, crazy psychopath, but willing to work (with limits) with certain people, as long as it’s beneficial to her. She greatly loves a good battle, and often finds destruction an effective cure for whatever problem arises. However, if she has agreed to be a member of a crew, she will obey orders and only torture, burn, rampage, maim and kill those whom the commander tells her to. However, if you’re the one giving the orders, you might what to spell out what you want in black and white, as Bang tends to interpret her orders in this regard very liberally. When people start ranting a raving around her, she keeps her head, and tries to think of all the different ways she can spell ‘eviscerate.’
When not causing destruction, Bang is very friendly, cheerful, and rather chatty, always ready to start a friendly conversation, which usually ends up being about the best way to disembowel people. She is always looking for ways to start destruction. She is a very effective leader, and is extremely good at getting people to do what needs to be done, as most underlings fear her (and who can blame them, really?)
Abilities/Weapons:
One of Bang’s favorite weapons at the moment is an electric glove/gauntlet (originally a medical device) that she has tweaked to deliver a significant amount of voltage to the unlucky person she’s holding at the time. She also always carries a cutlass, which she wields with great practice. However, she is a pirate queen, and so does not fight fair, often sneaking stilettos into opponents even while fencing with them. She’s also very rarely seen without at least a few pistols (for emergencies). If no weapons are available, she’s deadly with just about anything, and one of her favorite improvised weapons is a wedge of cheese.
Bang has an uncanny knack for quick-thinking when it comes to saving her own skin, and will not hesitate to push someone else into the line of fire ahead of her.
How well can your character hack?:
Not at all, but she’s great at hacking things to pieces!
Weaknesses:
Susceptible to most human limitations, physical damage will hurt Bang, although she occasionally gets into a crazy, battle-lust mental place that will make her ignore all but the most serious of wounds.
Problems can arise when she’s given an order with any wiggle room, as she’ll always finds a way to interpret said order to mean ‘kill as many people as possible, in as many different ways as possible.’
History:
Not much is known about the early life of Bangladesh DuPree. People who ask too many questions about it tend to end up with a stiletto in the chest. However, it may or may not have had something to do with a legendary hidden island named Skiffander, and if someone were ever to question her on how exactly she became acquainted with such impressive fighting skills… well… her mother taught her, and that’s all DuPree is ever likely to say.
Bangladesh was a wildly successful airship pirate queen patrolling the skies of western Vohemar. She was so successful that she actually commanded a fleet of ships, all of which mercilessly plundered anything from warships to air-yachts that happened to cross foolishly in to their airspace.
During a particularly tricky raid, Bang’s flagship, The Patchwork Truffle, was hit badly, and the envelope caught aflame. Bang managed to escape with her life, but broke several bones on the way down, and fell unconscious. She awoke to find all of the ships in the fleet destroyed, all of her pirates killed, and even her ground fortress was completely decimated.
Enraged, she commandeered a small airship, killing its crew with a slice of bread, and went off in search of anyone who might know what had happened to her fleet.
Eventually, she ran afoul of the tyrant of a Spark responsible for the less-chaotic status of western Vohemar. She began working for him, on the condition that he would discover what had happened to her fleet of ships, crew, and fortress.
Bang was considered his ‘left hand woman,’ from that point on, and ran all of the plundering, killing, information gathering and, in general, any operation that might have a slight chance of someone needing to be killed.
After several years of ravaging and plundering and generally having a grand old time (except for that incident when her mouth had to be wired shut), the politics of Vohemar suddenly changed. The new Heterodyne girl was safely established inside her castle in Mechanicsburg, she was going around rescuing everyone as often as she could. Overall, the empire was not quite as chaotically fun as it had been before. At the same time, Bang was forced to realize that even the superior intelligence gathering minions of Vohemar were unable to find out what had happened to her crew. When you put everything together, Bang was getting bored.
She said farewell to the life of being a tyrant’s lackey, and left to find a new adventure and more people needing to be destroyed, tortured, mutilated or otherwise decimated. But ground travel is not for Captain Bangladesh DuPree; maybe she can hire herself out and sign aboard on one of the ever-present airships in need of help, as long as she promises not to disembowel the crew.
