Lost Day

Urk! Yesterday, after the feeling of "getting our lives back", post-guest, was instead a day of feeling sorry for myself. At first, I thought I was just exceptionally stiff, post-aikido from Tuesday night. Although no one place hurt, which might have been a clue that there was something more systemic afoot.

Then I was finding it hard to eat anything without feeling a bit sick after. Which sort of put me out, because some of things I'd eaten would normally have been both perfectly innocent and highly enjoyable.

I managed to write a letter to Our Mutual Mary, at least (delayed for 2 days, with the Jake's presence and then departure). dear_hubby is still home from work, post-trauma; hands are on the mend, but he's experiencing the non-linear effect of improvement: the first 80% has been achieved, yay, but now the remaining 20%... looks set to take a while. (And I'd thought the doctor was being rather generous with the sick time... well, goes to show what I know). Meanwhile, I was feeling ickier and ickier, and not even a warm bath helped the achiness, which was feeling more systemic as time passed. dear_hubby ventured that it was just my body getting back at me after the craziness of the previous days, its way of making me REST.

The remainder of the day was looking at stuff, and going, "meh" when anything requiring remotely pro-active engagement was required. There was some fun: a post on my flist enquiring about donating hair to a charity lead me off to an exploration of the longhair community and varieties of braided hair porn. (Or, perhaps, not so passive as "porn" implies - I've discovered the proper name for the thing I do for my hair, which I refer to as "my aikido hair", is a "Dutch braided crown, lace varient"; and I'd picked up a couple of tips for making a better style of it, to be tried... since I'm feeling okay-ish at the moment... for tonight's aikido.) Curses, you!! Bless you, juliebata, *wink*.

(Actually, the Internet is ideal for a day when my inner fire seems stuck on "low" - all kinds of entertainment at the click of a mouse.)

(Extra credit: a quote found at the bottom of a hair demo page: "Religion is for people who are afraid of hell. Spirituality is for those who have been there. -- Unknown" Whoa!)

Thanks for stoppin'.
