I've got a good week coming up.
Tonight: Drive the GTI back down to Illinois. Revel in the beauty of my brand-new Shrick aluminum oil pan (thanks a million, Wes).
Tomorrow: Go into work with Wes. Spend the day huddled in a corner of the VWvortex compound (or a spare office, if there is one) rewriting my Driver Magazine story yet again because VW Corporate is extremely unhappy with the story because of something that has nothing to do whatsoever with my writing or the outcome of my original draft.
Tuesday: Tentatively go downtown with Susan to go to either the Lincoln Park Zoo or the Shedd Aquarium, depending on the weather, Susan's schedule, and whether or not I finish the story.
Wednesday: Get up early. Dress in suit and heels. Early-morning job interview in Des Plaines. Afternoon job interview in Deerfield. Wish me luck.
Thursday: Take Metra downtown with Wes for dinner to celebrate the six-month countdown to the wedding.
I thought I had learned my lesson: Stop being hopeful. But I guess I can't turn that off. Damn, I've changed.
