*Dreading turning 25 next week. I don't even want to celebrate
*Trying (and failing) not to be insanely jealous that Wes spent the day at the Chicago auto show, and is going out schmoozing tonight with industry types at an event sponsored by the PR bitch with whom I interviewed in Atlanta (funny how this shit works out)
*Trying not to get nervous about the fact that tomorrow, I have to take the train to downtown Chicago by myself to start my new temp job
*Ashamed of the fact that my life has been reduced to temping. When Claire was temping during the last season of Six Feet Under, I pointed at the screen and said, "Ha! Sucks to be you!"
*Simultaneously amazed by the fact that temping pays pretty well. The hourly rate is almost twice what I had been making in Vermont had I calculated my hourly rate from my salary
*Jazzed about the fact that if the temping holds out, at least I will have no problem taking off a week for the BABE Rally; I had thought I'd have to drop out. Temping could work to my advantage if I'm actually productive with my time off--that means writing instead of sitting around. I really just want some stability, though
*I did have a really awesome night Monday, worth writing about. After my last day temping at Sanford (I proofread Sharpie marker packaging--hilarious!) Wes picked me up and took me out for a very casual dinner to celebrate the six-month anniversary of our engagement. Afterward, we headed back to the office and ended up going out for beers with a couple of Wes' co-workers, which was fantastic
