DAY FOUR.
tuesday, october 1 (omg.)
spent: $3 ($8 including subway rides)
exercised: walk from the subway to work...
decided to take the subway instead of riding my bike today because a homeless man stabbed five people on the bike path this morning. in broad daylight. with scissors. ten blocks from my apartment. so, there's that.
after skipping my usual tuesday skating workout on account of a messy house and pure laziness, i wasn't starving... until i got to work. hence, $3 slice of emergency pizza. also not counting the tacos i ate at K's when there was no food to eat at his place... i cleaned out two houses worth of rotten food. whoopee.
budget progress: +$55. actual whoopee!
DAY FIVE.
wednesday, october 2
spent: $64 (UGH.) ($71.50 including subway & community yoga)
excercised: 1 yoga class, expended lots of emotional energy
things with K reached a frustrating emotional peak. when i started dating a 50 year old with children, i hardly expected him to be the most childish of them all. so today was rough.
it was also grocery day. i bought only the basics: yogurt and granola for breakfast, minimal sandwich makings, milk, arugula for salads... $38. HOW DARE YOU, NEW YORK CITY?? i'm trying to rationalize that it'll save me from awful $8 sandwiches (pays for itself in 5 missed sandwich opportunities) and other breakfast malfunctions. but, of course, i spent all of my hour-long yoga class dreaming about buffalo wings (hello, eating my feelings), so to reward myself for going even when i was in a crappy mood, i stopped at the atomic wings storefront i passed on my way home. (seriously, they deliver wings AND ben & jerry's. this is dangerous.) $7 there. and of course, i needed some white wine to go with ($14) and some straight up boring romaine lettuce from one of those bags for people who are too lazy to tear their own lettuce. $4. (note: they were $2.50 at the grocery store in harlem this morning.) so, i went home and ate the hell out of some wings and fake salad AND LIKED IT. then crap-snacked my way through sex & the city and chain smoked through tears at my best girl on the phone.
just one of those days.
OH. and there was a post office trip in there. 66 cents. and 15 minutes of waiting...america.
budget progress: +$11 (how am i not in the red?? this makes me feel slightly less guilty.)
