Apologies for my ridiculously mega-long overdue icon post. However I've outdone myself by actually hitting the 200 mark! And it's all jam-packed with Supernatural goodness. Even got some C&C awhile back on my overall icon-making skills and tried to implement some of those tips, so hopefully you all like 'em. Sadly, couldn't make any animated icons

I've seen all sorts of icons, and I'm often astounded by other peoples use of so many effects and textures. However, whenever I try to make the attempt at applying something to that degree, it never really pans out, though I do try. Most of the time, I'll just make use of the background in the image to my advantage and maybe go for dynamic angles in addition to fixing the colouring & lighting. I guess I'm more into simplicity then? *shrugs*
Again, not really for everyone, nor the most exciting compared to others, but I do get a quite a few compliments, so I guess I'm doing something right, eh? :p ;)
And yes, you're right about complex - I don't think I've done that much blending of images in awhile. I am very happy with the results of it and I'm really glad you seem to like them as well.
