I love my life. Here I am, sitting here, on my voluntary 9pm-1am shift in the ICU of the Ross vet clinic (oh, excuse me, the Ross University Community Practice for all you AVMA folk), and am in between treatments of 2 very cute, thankfully stable critters, wondering when in are any of my friends back home planning a visit to the wonderful island of St. Kitts??? I plan on enticing a visit in the following ways. A) While airfair may suck come December 20th, you'll still have a free place to stay!!! Yes, our home may have more animals than people, but its still quite nice, with extra bedrooms, futons, you name it. We even have a coffee maker now (something I demanded after pulling a couple of these shifts right before an exam week. Redbull just doesn't do it in the morning.) B) a beautiful caribbean setting, with gorgeous sunsets, amazing running routes through cane fields, and of course, the clearest, warmest ocean and beaches. C) If you come in December/January, and I play my cards right, you may just meet a monkey. D) Nightly escapades to various beach bars, or better yet, the Blue Anchor- a dark, dank, awesomely styled brittish pub. E) Who can resist an encounter with Wilbur the pig, and Cappuccino the goat?? F) You just can't miss the opportunity to have traffic stopped by a cow. G) Did I mention the free room, beautiful beaches, and monkeys???
Ok, i find that I'm repeating myself. Its now time to erase the previous hour's TPR from the back of my hand so I can record them again, maybe get back to my book, and hopefully be relieved at 1 by a fully confident and competant volunteer who won't require me to stay until 5am.........
