We found a white baby pigeon who can't fly in our backyard. Probably because it's too stupid or it fell out of its nest or its parents caught it in bed with a crow - whatever the reason, we adopted it. It's so afraid though; it makes weird noises when I walk near it and it does this pathetic running away motion and tries to fly but, obviously doesn't. We keep it in a box at night to sleep in, and in the day we leave it in the backyard to roam freely. Which it doesn't, it just sits in a corner and watches the other pigeons go about their business. I guess it's our pet. My brother can't figure out a name for it though.
Tonight, I picked it up and tried to soothe it by petting it gently but it just shit itself and made that stupid noise again. Am I really that terrifying? Maybe it's scared because it knows that I have an urge to kick pigeons most of the time.
It's times like that I wish I had some way of telling animals, "hey there, I won't hurt you", and they'd believe me and sit on me like St Francis of Assisi or something.
Not elephants though, they're not allowed to.
