I agree with Mike that summer doesn't feel entirely like itself since we didn't do the traditional get out of school and BOOM it's summertime. Though summer has never been so beautiful in my eyes until now. It's only the beginning, but yet i've been so far. I can't wait for the end.
On the 21st, The Summer Solstice, John, Becky, Lety, and I drove to Seaside to welcome in summer the proper way: In our underwear diving into the waves @ sunset. Yes, I said fuck it and stripped down to my white tighty whities and white sweatshirt and stood in the water until my penis was all the way into my stomach due to the temperature of the water. It was fantastic. After that adventure we drove up to Astoria and then over to Washington to explore the country side of the things. It was an amazing experience. I never feel more inspired until my feet are standing idle in the ocean.
This brings me to this past Friday night when Jonathon, Nick, Tara, and I went to my first rave. This was their 50th time I swear, but they decided to break me into the scene. And yes it was almost exactly like what you see in the movies. There was a black curtain you go behind to do stuff that "doesn't" happen @ raves. I walked behind there and was about taken out like a football player until I gave them the thumbs up and cooled off in front of the fan. I think we were on some physic level or something. The coincidence of the night was this boy, this really cute boy whom I used to walk past and make eye contact with when I lived downtown. I can't believe that out of all the places in Portland he was there. Still cute. Due to my condition @ the time all I wanted to do was touch him and feel his hair. Sucks that I just met him now. I'm leaving so soon. After the excitement wore down and I was feeling a little less tingly, Jonathon, Tara, and I headed back to J's and opened up some beers. We left Nick in Dillion's care since Nick wasn't tired and going to be up all night. I passed out in Jonathons bed around 4 and then we both woke up hella early to go to work and go on with our days.
Then... after I got off of work and felt like I was going to pass out, I ran into Becky @ home and we talked about stuff. John and her recently parted ways due to just missing the train as I like to call it. It's good for them right now, but they feel optomistic that one day they'll ride along side together. It was beautiful this past saturday so we said fuck it, let's go get ice cream @ Cascade Locks. We took a beautiful scenic drive along the old highway and then uptp the Gorge area and just chilled w/ the scenery. I got a text from Airick asking me if I wanted to go up to Seattle for the night and then go to their version of Gay pride. I said hell yeah and made my way back home quickyl. A boy's gotta pack ya know. Turned out Jonathon and Tara were coming along as well and once again we were off into the sunset for another adventure that only summer could provide. We got half way to Seattle and decided to spend the night @ Airick's parents place in the country. There was a lake nearby the house so we kinda just took a walk in the moonlight. Got back to the house and ate and eventually passed out. We got up, got ready, made our way to Seattle looking cute as buttons. It was my first actual time being in Seattle besides using their airport to catch another flight. It was fucking beautiful. There was nothing like it. Hell, maybe i'll grow old there instead, who knows. The pride parade was alittle over 3 hours and my feet were pinching in my little sea foam green adidas. I mean how much shit could they possibly show! I must say that Portlands drag queens are way more up to par than those I saw in the parade. Fat men in heels does not constitute a drag queen. You have to actually do your face and hair! They had a float for their club that rivals the Escape, I believe it was called Neighbors. Our club kids are better and that's the end of that. After the parade we paraded down Gay ave. and joined the festivities @ the park. There was a big stage when you first walk up the sidewalk into the park and that was for live performers. Then up the way a little was only what I could assume to be the area for kids my age. It had a Dj who mixed remixes and a dancefloor me and my crew took over. The most funny thing about the music that was being played was that it sucked until all of a sudden I hear "Here's the thing, we started out friends..." and then I hear a loud cheer coming from every gay man in that radius along with everyone singing along. I guess it's become an anthem to more than just myself. Either way it was the cherry on top of the cake I was just eating away. The weekend was perfect. After the park and back on Gay ave. (it was actually broadway st.) we hitched a ride in some Bears minivan to get back to our car. Bears can be nice and decent. We stopped off @ Airicks 'rents house to get our stuff and eat some BBQ and then we headed home back to our Gay ave. Jonathon and I took a lot of interesting pictures on the way home. Never leave two bitches w/ a digital camera. The results are shocking. Anyways, the drive home was amazing and then I made it home thanks to Airick. You are a prince and I heart U!!! Becky was home alone and a little sad. She thought maybe she did the wrong thing and being w/ John still was what she wanted. We talked, smoked, talked and then I passed out after I couldn't talk anymore. The weekend had caught up w/ me. And now i'm doing laundry and waiting to start another day of Summer off in style.
