Hello there, live journal readers. I'm glad you all decided to visit me today. Tomorrow is the beginning of my second week of the summer routine, and I'm feeling pretty good about it, as I look back upon a fairly laid-back weekend. I won't go into it at the moment, though. Why, you ask? Well, because I am more interested in discussing concepts.
The first thing I think about when summer arrives is the group of friends I will end up hanging out with throughout the course of it. Each summer has a distinctive tone to it--largely determined by who it's spent with. Last summer was dominated by Autumn, Matt, Ruby, and Patterson--among several others who played significant 'supporting roles' whom I won't mention now. The summer before that was Rudy (notice: ruDy, not ruBy), Patterson, and Amber. And the list goes on. Anyway, my point is that I have high hopes for this summer; as a part of that, I hope to be able to spend the time with the right people. I have a feeling that I will be consorting with a largely 'new' crowd of people. Hopefully these people will be those with whom will be developed the most mature and lasting relationships possible--as to what exactly a 'mature' relationship is...maybe another time, I don't feel like explaining now. I will probably see more of Rich and Steve than I ever have, as well as seeing no small amount of Shae and Brandon and Matt. I'm sure recurring faces will include (among others) Patterson, maybe Rudy, Deric, Amber, Devon, and probably others. For the record, those are all people I care about to varying degrees. Of course, I'll happily see a ton of Autumn. Ruby? Again, that's another story.
On an unrelated note: I think the topic of Edgar Cayce and his readings has to be one of the most compelling in existence. He dissected and articulated the personalities of people he'd never met, as well as diagnosing and proposing unswervingly accurate cures to their diseases and physical ailments. In the earliest years of the 20th century, he predicted the beginning and end of world war II almost to a day. He also predicted the stock market crash and the great depression, among numerous other things. Perhaps most intriguingly, he said that everyone had the potential to do what he did. What does it all mean, bazzle? It means that I can't help but take a profound interest in the topic. There are plenty of theoretical/philosophical things I could study and yield great fruit from, but if what Cayce proposed is true...it trumps all. It completely and undeniably changes one's whole understanding of humanity and existence. Its effects are not only far reaching, but universal. That's all I have to say about that, for now, though.
One last thing before I finish this entry: do any of you who read this know the screen names of anyone on LJ that I also know and might be interested in friending? If so, please share. It's not that I want to make some desperate plea for friends to make me seem more awesome or something ridiculous like that; I just figure that I've had live journal for a year and 4 months or so now, and it might be time that I actually looked somewhat beyond the 10 friends I currently have(not to their exclusion, of course)--5 of whom post less than once a month.
That'll be all for now. Thanks for reading.
