Horray for great weekends!
Oh how I love my friends! I must say I have the greatest friends ever! So I went down to berea-town this weekend and like I said...it was great. Not one negative thing happened! It was so refreshing to get away from home and be back with my buddies. It's so odd though....cause when I was a student at berea, I looked forward to weekends when I could get away and come home and visit family. Now that I'm home I look forward to weekends when I can get away and go to Berea to visit friends. Ah, such is life.
ANYWAYS, I got to hang out with all kinds of cool peoples! Mary, Efe, Kandis, Tab, and myself ate at applebees friday evening...and we stayed there for 3 hours just talking and laughing! It was so refreshing! I hadn't laughed that much in a long time. And our server was nice and wasn't pissed that we stayed so long, but I think it helped cause he and kandis were all kinds of flirty. lol. But it was fun.
Saturday I got to hang out with my good friend Ari most of the day. He's a cool kid. This was the first time we'd hung out for an extended period of time for probably a year or more so it was nice to catch up. It was like old times. We walked around berea for 3 hours just talking about all kinds of random things. needless to say my feet were a lil sore afterwards, but it was worth it. After dinner we rented the movie "Crash". That movie is crazy intense, but good. Though it made me want to go smack the people and cry at the same time. It really played with your emotions. And Jon came in during the movie and I hadn't seen him in a long time, so he stayed and watched the last 20-30 minutes of the movie with us, so it was good to see him before he left to cause a ruckus somewheres. haha.
Then it was back to Mary's where Luke came by to drop off efe and of course he came to see me too. It was so nice to see him again. So he stayed for an hour or 2 (I didn't pay attention to time), and we talked about life, school, work, etc etc.
Sunday I went to church with Efe and Mary, The service was really good, about how we need to let our light shine, I know my light is pretty dim...and that's not easy to admit, but I know it's true. So I need to work on that.
After church Mary, Efe, Frankie, Kris, J, and I went to China Chef. MMMM delish! I love chicken. And I tell you what, hangin out with those kids will cause you to laugh until your gut hurts! But that's a good kind of pain. I think we stayed there for about 2 hours or so, just joking, talking, and of course acting like complete goofballs! Gotta love it!!!
So I went back to tab and kandis's in richmond afterwards, talked with kandis about men, relationships, life, and all kinds of things. It was so good to have someone to talk to again. I mean I can talk to my mom, but some things I just feel more comfortable talking with friends my age about.
Then today came, and I got kinda sad, mainly just because I knew I had to leave. But I got to have lunch with Kandis before I left so that was good. What would have made the weekend perfect though, is if ALL of my berea friends were in town! But I know ya'll are busy with working, grad schools, seminaries, being in other counteries, etc. But hopefully we'll see each other again sooner than later
I'd love to tell more, but wow this is a long entry, so I think I've said enough!
