This weekend was my grandpa's 80th birthday. I headed out to St. Louis Friday and got back late last night. I got to play with all my cousin's kiddies. They were very cute, and very numerous. My family is exploding! Yeah...don't think I want kids any time soon if ever. They're great for three or four hours, but by the end of the party I was done with kids for a while.

However when I was there, I got the 'puppy' fever. I really, really, REALLY want a puppy. Of course, I know that I don't have the ability right now to commit to a puppy forever. If I ever have to go back to my parent's house for any amount of extended time, a dog just wouldn't fly (the cat will cause enough of an uproar). But I have a solution. I've wanted to get involved with raising guide dog puppies for a while, there's a boulder chapter, the only thing I need is permission from my apartment complex.

I called them and the woman I need to talk to is out of town, but said that she'd be returning calls as she was able. I'll fight for this. I'd like to time it so that I can get the puppy after Christmas. You get them for a year to a year and a half. If the puppy doesn't make it as a guide dog the raiser gets the option to take the dog as their pet. The puppies are labs, goldens, and shepherds. Wish me luck.

Really randomly got an idea for a story while I was writing up that bit about guide dogs. I've now got to go and jot it down. have a good day friends.
