thanks! I'm glad you picked up on that. I have a lot of issues with the way white gay men perceive Arab men. We're either an exoticized, hyper sexual, hyper masculine stereotype or simply not interesting. I've come to realize that it's very difficult for guys to want long term relationships with me because I don't fit any "ideal" image in their world. I'm not a hyper-masculine man (quite feminine actually) but I don't have the blond hair and button nose to match my personality so I'm reduced to a one-night-stand rather than a quality I-can-see-myself-with-him boyfriend.

Yeah, I feel you man. I'm kinda the flip side of you though. I'm half Lebanese(my dad was from Lebanon, never a US citizen), although culturally I feel pretty American. But there are times when I know that I'm not like when all my friends think I'm weirdo for getting excited about Dolmas ( ... )
