A Rant at the Powers that Be
We have tried to up hold our part of the bargain. We really have. We have held up our part. We have driven large, inefficient cars. We have refused to reduce, recycle and reuse. We continue to pollute our air, our lands, our seas, and even our very minds. We are doing our best.
Surely you have seen the results. Our polar ice caps are melting. Honey bees and many different species of frogs are mysteriously disappearing. There isn’t a beach in the world that doesn’t have some sort of debris washing ashore. Our rain is acidic. Our ground water is toxic. That hole in the ozone isn’t getting any smaller now is it?
So, where is it? Huh? Where is our promised global warming. Why am I still waking up to snow and sleet mussing up my beautiful car. Why are artic temperatures keeping my active little preschoolers inside until cabin fever is threatening to turn them all against us?
You owe us, damn it! I want my warm winter. I want my too early Spring and my too long summer.
