I've rediscovered The Sims.  Just tried reinstalling and playing the original, unexpanded version, and I think I know why I hated this game so much as a kid.  See, when I was just getting started, I wanted to try something simple, so I went with a single guy -- on the principle that 1 Sim is easier to manage than 2-3 Sims.  Problem is, a single Sim doesn't have anyone to talk to, so to keep his socialization from plummeting I had to invite someone over pretty much every day.  Which was impossible because he had to feed himself, shower, relax, etc. etc... not enough hours in the day.

So I tried making a three-sim family.  I named them the Kuga family ;(^_^).  I've got Natsuki working (police officer, hee) and Shizuru staying at home, and with family breakfasts and dinners I get enough socialization that they don't really need to talk to their neighbors at all... My only regret so far is that I didn't name the kid Nao.  Just didn't think of it.  Oh well.
