(Portals) OOC thoughts regarding deviation from Tirrik's original concept

I didn't quite intend for Tirrik to become the dark paladin I see him as now. I originally wanted to be a good deal more menacing; perhaps, through Tirrik's tendency to take on corruption he has maintained this in a way. I wasn't going to even purchase any weapon skills - I wanted to portray, essentially, a preacher or missionary who happened to know which end of the sword was the business end through his time in the Legion.

IP events, specifically Tirrik's November encounter with the avatar of Sha'Dir, have changed his outlook entirely. He decided to emulate Sha'Dir and sacrifice his very soul to protect the small group of survivors of the madness that is the current chaos of Nearatha. In fact, last game, Tirrik died twice defending town and was perfectly ready to go with no regrets.

I am enjoying this. I love it when in-game events so strongly influence a character. I am bracing for another Tirrik-changing plotline with Leisbet and the Kobolds.
