Reminiscing.
Last Night I was looking back
on all the wonderful memories i had
of the wonderful Lake Junaluska
The first time i ever remember
thinking
"Wow, I love this place"
was when i was walking down the sidewalk
that first Thursday afternoon
and Becca looks at me and screams
"LANEY!"
and runs towards me to give me the biggest hug i have ever recieved
and then i went to their "bread room" with them
and they got ready for the concert
and i had to take pictures of all the hot guys singing
Yes, I do love this place :)
and then
the next year
i remember meeting Chad and Ryan
and Chad called me "smart"
while he did the finger thing that really means dumb
and he let me wear his watch and hat.
and Aimee told me Chad was hot
as if i hadn't figured this out yet
and I was like.. Yeah i know
she gave me a really mean look
and i just thought i was the coolest thing since sliced bread
we went to the mall on i think Wednesday
that mall sucked butt
and we went to Claire's
and Becca ran into a mirror
that made my week :)
then.. we were waiting in Stewart before the concert
and Faux was looking all Toasty in his suit
Those two older girls started making fun of Chad
and he walked away
Then his "sister" went to talk to him
and came back and said that he was afraid I didnt like him
Guys are so dumb sometimes
and then he said he wasnt going to the dance
I called and told him i would hurt him if he didnt
he asked me why
He wasnt exactly the brightest crayon in the crayon box
i told him cause i wanted to dance with him
he didnt beleive me
we were on the bus
it was the first day this year
we saw Ryan in his awesome sunglasses through the window
Lauren and I were standing in line talking to Ryan
Aimee and Kendall walked in
we all started laughing
they gave us more mean looks :)
Chris remembered me
we met Jonathan
We left Courtney standing outside our room for and hour and a half
because we were talking to our good buddy Ryan
(with his Breastplate of Righteousness)
about swimming in the Mobile Bay
Becca and I didn't know you can't swim in a bay :)
it was raining
and Trolley Bob would not wait on Becca
she got left :(
we had to get Mrs Patti to go pick her up
it was quite funny
we went swimming with Chris and Sam after lunch
bad idea
the water was cold
but Sam had a nice body
and we got in trouble with Saxon
whoops
can you say early curfew?
it was well worth it, i must say
although we had to sit through practice wet
Ryan and Will sang their awesome solos
even though that lady's fat was hanging all over them :)
before the concert
playing football in the hall
Wade hit Becca in the Head :)
and we were making the ceiling fall :)
Mollie told me what Wade said
I smiled :)
The concert-
we were standing in the back row
even though we were too short.
we stood on our tiptoes :)
then the dance
Ryan looked so funny under the strobe lights
his sister was so cute
Woods..
That's all i am gonna say
Y'all know what i mean :)
Then we had to leave
that was sad
we got pictures with Woods and Ryan
and the Crunchy Hair girl
and all our other girls and guys
so sad
then Wade, Katherine and Mollie took a picture
but the paper was in Katherine's face :)
and Courtney took 4 pictures
of 3 ducks :)
then we went home :(
The Next Year:
It was after our 9th grade.
We were finally in the big kids choir.
I don't remember much anymore.
we played mini golf...somewhere else.
and got ice cream, I'm pretty sure.
We saw the Franklin kids.
Jackson (he looked like Nappy D), Grant (he was cute),
Sam (the rapper), some guy named Tanner,
because it made me think of Full House.
We sang "Joyful Joyful"
and danced.
It was fun.
The other Jackson did the solo, and the rap was <3.
Courtney was there,
we went to the acting thing.
"Un Papel."
"You can't catch me, I'm Ryan Sheets!"
And balloon corsages.
I think I still have mine:
Yellow with a blue center.
Lar-W.
He'd been everywhere, I swear it.
They rolled down the hill, and made that video
with Mad Max (how old was he again?)
The Visor.
and the Pants.
And being allergic to the sun, of course.
I think Ryan sang the Phantom of the Opera
and then we got attacked by gross-smelling birds.
We went and got Smoothie's
(mine was the good one)
Jackson walked in
Scooby Doo boxers.
I got a picture with him, of course.
The dance.
Ryan had a girlfriend,
so he wouldn't even dance with me.
I went out to the water fountain during a slow song.
Grant asked me to dance
we danced to that "Sugar on my tongue" song.
Jackson saved me from his insanity.
We danced forever.
Screennames.
Goodbye.
Last Year:
Summer after 10th.
We were the oldest people there from Gastonia.
Courtney wasn't there.
Or Lar-W.
And we didn't have Room 308. :(
But we made a headband tree.
And our shower wasn't really broken anymore.
We found a new place.
"Inspiration Point"
And played spades ALL night.
and listened to random music.
One of my favorite all-time memories.
We made new friends.
Austin Vandyke Colby, Chris, David.
And those girls that we really didn't like at all.
That matched every day.
Grrrr. What did they call themselves?
Oh. Bon Air Barbies.
That's it.
But Austin and Chris and David were cool.
Massages, and teaching Chris to iron.
Sam doing tricks for us in the room.
Sitting outside on the rocking chairs,
like we did that one time with Wade.
But this time, with our new friends.
Taking a long walk with Jackson.
Going swimming with everyone,
just because those boys told us to.
Oh yeah, and more new friends:
Grant and that Mills Davis boy...
I don't remember his name.
And Austin, was one of them.
So we have the Franklin boys
the Richmond boys,
THE one and only Mobile boy,
and the Mt. Holly girls, of course.
That we've always loved.
And the talent show. WOW.
The "Jackson Five" thing.
They were hilarious.
And Sam's rapping, of course. As always.
David and Ashton had a thing.
Or did they?
We never knew.
And sign language. :)
"You raise me up"
and how we taught the class.
And line dancing.
Because Austin was absolutely amazing at it,
for some reason.
It was wonderful.
And stupid girls getting drunk at the dance
And he came to see me before they left.
And saying goodbye to all of our new bests.
And to those who won't be back again,
And to Lar-W, who will :)
I love you.
And to the Lake,
and everything that it means to me,
and every memory it brings up:
I miss you.
