Never have I ever...

I was driving home from work today and this guy was crossing the street which doesn't seem all that odd. However, he had a green parrot on his shoulder. Not only did he have a green parrot on his shoulder, he had TWO green parrots on his shoulder. I had of course stopped to let him cross but as I started to drive off, I continued to look at the man with the parrots. He seemed to be confused as to why I was staring at him. I would think it would be fairly obvious. What do you think?

I'm procrastinating as usual and thought that writing an update of sorts would be a great way to waste some time. Especially since no one seems to write in their LJ's during the summer (come on guys I need something to occupy precious studying time with). Anywho, one my best friend Alissa's Bachelorette Party was this weekend. I planned the event with some help from the other bridesmaids. She enjoyed herself and got a little tipsy. It was disappointing that McFadden's apparently watered down the drinks since she was close to hitting her limit and she could still text her fiance without spelling mistakes. I myself downed a Greatful Dead (basically a Long Island Ice Tea type drink that's mainly alcohol and a smidge of cranberry juice) before leaving and it only left my a little buzzed even after 2 previous drinks and a shot.

I was also disappointed in that I had planned a lot of games and bought some dare cards for everyone to play. We didn't get to most of them in that we got to the restaurant early and left just as it started picking up. Alas to fix this problem, we're going out dancing (as Liss kept stating that night) the night of the Bachelor's Party. I felt bad we were just going back to her house after McFadden's but I wasn't sure how the Mom's who were in attendance would enjoy a dance club. After returning to the house, Liss's two friends from the YMCA decided they were tired/not feeling well after their respective long days and decided to head home so the things I had planned for the house were not executed nor was most of the favors, food, and alcohol I/Mer bought that afternoon used.

Disappointment number three was I had made crowns for everyone to wear as part of the Courtly Theme I had come up with. I had spray painted them all pink which gave me a headache and a half not to mention made my toes, fingers, and snots (yes I said snots) pink for a day. I decorated them at Mer's the night before labeling them with clever little names. I wanted to make sure people wore them so I made a consequence for taking them off - buy Liss a drink. Yeah...the two girls from the Y weren't having the crowns and didn't seem to care how much work went into them even after I had hinted about it and left them off for the night copping out and buying Liss a drink when we arrived.

As much as I was disappointed at the above, Liss had a good time and her parents were appreciative of the planning I put into the evening. In that sense I was happy that she didn't plan it herself after all that she has done for herself and the wedding and that she did have fun. Again we will be going out for a night of dancing so maybe we can get a lil crazier then since there will be no moms in attendance.

Most people don't take their cats or parrots for walks.

Maturity is a bitter disappointment for which no remedy exists, unless laughter could be said to remedy anything.
