Getaway
Life's been a bit crazy lately - well, mostly my job has been a bit crazy ("Hey, you're promoted! Enjoy your new job! But also do your old job! And hey, have some crises too!"), which means I have been working late and eating oddly and coming home and watching Dr. Who far past my bedtime. And don't get me wrong, Dr. Who is FANTASTIC, but it's never a good sign for me when all I feel like I can handle in life is hours of flickering screen time.
Tonight, though, I totally got away from all of it. I went straight from work to Caboose's house and we had a Pillow Party. She'd borrowed my sewing machine to make pillows and then realized she didn't really know how to work it, so I came over and we had margaritas and black bean soup and pillows!
I made one comfy but ass-looking pillow out of an old beloved purple t-shirt, a cute little boring green pillow, and an absurdly cute green bolster with navy bows. Caboose's new apartment is nautically themed, so she's working on big yellow stars stitched onto navy pillows.
We spent the night just chilling - talking but not intensely, hanging out making our pillows and drinking our margaritas. Caboose talked up Match.com to me and convinced me to join so I spent awhile writing a profile and browsing available lesbians (although I haven't decided whether I'll actually do the "paying" part of it).
All in all - fun, relaxing, no stress. Life is good!
