Baby's Room is Coming Together!

So I was reading this book of my mom's, called Spiritual Midwifery. It's basically all the birth stories of these hippies who lived on a farm commune (sp?) together back in the 60's or whenever. Once I got past the fact that they call the vagina the 'puss' the clitorus the 'button' and contractions 'rushes' it was pretty interesting. I guess it helped me realize that birth IS a natural thing, and that my body is built to do it, and I realized that the thing I feel uncomfortable about is my own body and the whole idea of having to be touched and massaged... down there, and then after she's born she's going to be sucking on my breasts, which are and have always been mine and now i'm going to have to share. (mind you i don't really enjoy having them touched) So I guess i really need to get over this stuff seeing as in exactly 100 days (give or take) I'll be exposing myself to quite a few doctors and midwives and having things poked and prodded and stretched and what have you. I have had more pelvic exams in the last 6 months than most people get in 10 years, so you'd think i'd be used to it. (maybe i'm just whining over nothing?) Bah, whatever it's going to happen and it will be fine, guess it just didn't help to have these hippies explaning the "psychadelic rushes" and how "high" it made them feel. *cough* yeah uh-huh I can't wait man!

Bottom line, must get over body issues by december.

In other news, well there's really not much other news. Dad helped me buy some maternity clothes today, warm ones so now I won't freeze or have to shove my huge belly into small sweaters and stretch them all out. I think i'm set as far as it comes to clothes for me now all I need is a bunch of warm ones for Lily! OH! And I get to wear jeans again! the real kind with the button and the zipper! HAHA! It's amazing how much you miss things when they're gone, but this store had maternity jeans where the stretchy part was in the BACK! How smart! I feel cute again, even though I have no hips anymore, it's all baby from one side to the other *with a popping belly button in the middle! haha*

I also got this anne Geddes book for 5 dollars at Borders, and Dad's going to help me cut out some of hte pictures to frame them for Lily's room, cuz the walls look so bare and ugly right now. Maybe when Dustin comes home he'll help me hang the two pictures that we do have right now.

***note- Dustin cleaned the WHOLE apartment before I got home today, he even left me some flowers on a table :-) ***

Oh, and the meeting at work went well, I don't know that everyone was paying attention... but what are you gunna do. Christmas will either make or break it I think, but it really did go well, Jen approached it from a 'I want us all to be on the same page' standpoint rather than a 'You guys suck nothing is getting done' standpoint which i might have done seeing as I'm pregnant and bitchy.

Speaking of being bitchy my back is killing me from sitting on the floor so long, so I'm going to go relax in my nice comfy glider and watch the rest of the terrible packer game.

xoxo
