Summary: There were 3 types of men during the rainy season.
It wasn't like any rainy day. Any other rainy day felt blank. It was just waiting alone on the shed for the rain to stop or lessen before running again and trying to dodge the droplets of rain.
Today was different. As Kibum waited on the shed, there was someone with him waiting. It looked like this guy had been running from one shed to another too. The said someone cursed under his breath for forgetting to bring his umbrella today while rubbing his arms for warmth. Kibum fiddled his feet. He got used to this kind of cold, due to the fact that he doesn't like bringing an umbrella to school because he complained that it only added weight to his already heavy bag; but today he felt like he was submerged in an icy ocean. He was shaking and he knew he was having chicken skin. Damn, he was nervous as hell.
He slowly looked at his side, observing the man beside him. There were droplets of rain dripping from the other's hair. He felt his blood creeping onto his cheeks. What he was doing was being a stalker! And he didn't like being called or observed as this man's number one stalker!
“Are you okay Kibum?” The latter asked and Kibum could only hide himself on his scarf before nodding. Then glancing once more to his side.
Lee Jinki. Why do you keep on making me look like a fool?! Yup. Lee Jinki was the name. His longest crush ever! Five years 4 months 18 days to be exact. He didn't even know how he fell in love with him. Well, Jinki did look hot, with his toned body, elegant smile, chocolate orbs... But heck the guy was clumsy, corny, geeky and sometimes looked like a lost rabbit. Name every single deal break Kibum has, Jinki had it. Though one smile from this so-called pheromone alien named Lee Jinki, he would keep on falling in love more and more. It was as if Jinki was perfect.
Kim Kibum. You are one stupid guy. He cursed at himself.
“Omo!” Jinki gasped as he pointed at the thing that caught his attention. It was an abandoned umbrella laying on the ground.
“We're so lucky to find this!” He cheered before picking it up and waving it to Kibum's face. The other then stared at him and processed everything in his brain. Now that they've found an umbrella, there are two possible scenarios:
A) Jinki would leave him and tell him good luck on getting home. Come on, Jinki isn't selfish! He would never leave me here. This scenario's impossible!
B) They would share the umbrella and Jinki'll leave it to Kibum once he passes by their house. Oh man. Why does the umbrella have to appear now?! I still want to spend more time with him. Though the idea of sharing one umbrella isn't bad.
“Kibum-ah! The umbrella's working fine! Let's just share and walk fast while the rain's only in it's medium power!” Jinki cheered. Kibum sighed. Medium power?! This guy's a total wacko! He frowned realizing that he didn't even get the chance to talk to him that much.
Jinki waved his hand ordering Kibum to get closer to him so they could fit the tiny umbrella. He felt the other's warmth around his body. He bit his lip. His flushed cheeks got worse when Jinki suddenly wrapped his arm around his shoulder so that he could protect Kibum from the rain. All Kibum wanted to do now was melt and not show himself forever.
The rain got a little bit stronger as they strolled and the umbrella didn't help that much anymore.
“Aish. Nevermind this umbrella!” Jinki shouted and closed the umbrella quickly before grabbing Kibum's hand and started to run. The other gasped as he felt Jinki's hand tight against his. He only kept looking at it as they ran. This isn't a dream right?
He then noticed Jinki looking at the sky while running. He was laughing. Then he looked back and smiled at Kibum. The flustered one couldn't help but smile back. They both ran and had fun in the rain. It was like no other feeling. It was unlike any sweet dream that Kibum had about the bubbly Lee Jinki.
When Jinki and Kibum arrived at Jinki's house, Jinki asked him if he wanted to change clothes and stay until the rain stopped since it was his fault that Kibum got dripping wet. And of course, he couldn't refuse.
Jinki asked the other to walk in first but even before Kibum got close to the door, a hand grabbed his arm then pulled him back. The next thing he knew, a pair of lips were hovering his. His eyes were opened wide. But as their kiss got longer, he started to close them and cherished the moment.
“Kibum, I know this doesn't look like the right time to confess but... I'm going to do it anyway. Kim Kibum, I am deeply madly in love with you. Ever since you laughed at me because I tripped on my own feet at the first day of class, I fell in love with you. I love you so much I don't want to let you go right now, but if you don't feel the same, you can let go and I'll understand.” Jinki whispered to his ear. Even though the sound of the rain was loud, Kibum understood clearly those sweet and meaningful words. He looked back at Jinki, his eyes brimming with tears. They started to fall one by one.
“Omo! Are you crying or are those raindrops falling on your cheek?” Jinki tried to joke as he wiped the other's cheek as if it was going to dry his face. Kibum giggled before giving the man in front of him a tight hug.
“Stupid Jinki. I love you too. So much you have no idea.” He said as he tightened his arms on Jinki's neck. The other sneaked his arms around his waist and leaned on the hug. Nothing was going to ruin this special moment.
In summary, there are actually three types of men during the rainy season:
A) Those guys who would not share his umbrella with you. Or those who has a spare umbrella on their bag;
B) Those guys who would share the umbrella with you, and be all mushy-gushy; and,
C) Those guys who would not care about getting wet and hold your hand tight, as both of you fight against the heavy rain.
But a surprise random confession of love after getting dripping wet because of the rain? Well, that's a different story.
