CHRIST ON THE CROSS it's been a while! Hm, where to start? I guess the best way to start is to begin with where my last post left off. I warn you, it's going to be long. I'm doing this mainly for myself as a re-cap...
May 9th - 11th: Studied and took finals in AC 310 and AC 361. The 361 test was the hardest test I've taken in my entire life! I left shaking. The 311 test was a different story. I have never left a test feeling so positive in my entire life. Cheers, they're over!
May 12th: Worked all day since I had not worked any that week. Met up with a friend and had great "finals are done" sex. Later that night I met Meredith and Booty at Mer's house for wine and a movie. I think we watched Rumor Has It... It was pretty good...
May 13th: Headed to Rhoda's house (Jennifer's mom) for our road trip to Nashville, TN. We actually left on time and made it there without any problems. Jennifer's living with her grandparents until she finds the perfect apartment so we stayed with them. Her grandparents are convinced we are getting married. So we chill there for a while and get ready to head downtown to Demos' Steak and Spaghetti House for dinner. It was soooo friggin good. I've eaten there before but it's been 3 or 4 years. Had a great time catching up with my friend! Also found out that I got two A-‘s and one C+. Also, the 311 test that I felt so good about, I made a 98.5 on the final!!
May 14th: Rhoda decided we would go to church for Mother's Day. Somebody she worked with or something told her about this really cool place called Belmont Church. So Jennifer and I decide to give it a shot. That was mistake number one! This place was a freak show! I don't think they had a priest or anything. This lady just kept singing and talking to God and saying things like this "Oh Jesus, you are so good to me, I mean, HOW good AREEEEEEEEEE you, HOW GOOD ARE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!" Words can't describe it fully. Random lady was holding hands with about 6 little kids and they were dancing and spinning around in a circle. W E I R D O S! We couldn't take it anymore so we left after 45 minutes of standing. So after that we went home and her grandmother had cooked an amazing feast! This lady can cook. And you know I can eat. So I gained 10lbs this trip. UGH. Oh yeah. So now I'm addicted to Grey's Anatomy. Thanks a lot! I'll be renting all the previous episodes this summer!
May 15th: Never in my life would I imagine a 75 year old woman could outlast me! Rhoda and her mother decided they wanted to go to antique stores and look around. I decided to go and see what all the fuss was about. Big mistake. It was a lot of fun and there were some really interesting things but it wore me out! Oh yeah, and now I feel really old because they had a million things from my childhood at an antique store. Like Smurfs crap, Scooby Doo stuff, Pound Puppies, Sesame Street stuff.. Golden books, etc... Needless to say, I was wawwwwwwwwwn out! Watched the season finale of Grey's Anatomy. Totally hooked now! Oh yeah, tried to meet up with
amicrazyorwhat but it didn’t work out.. Sorry bud! We'll hang out next time!
May 16th: Rhoda and I decided to have lunch with Jennifer and meet her new friend Kelly before we left. Kelly cracked me up! I can see why Jennifer is friends with her! So, five cups of coffee later, Rhoda and I set out for a few more antique stores in Franklin, TN. We went to this one store that was so big, it took over an hour to walk through. Franklin was a really cool little town. We found this amazing little store that had the best homemade cookies. Oh and by the way, I didn't mention this earlier but Jennifer's grandmother baked two homemade apple pies and a homemade strawberry shortcake while we were there! But I digress... So after we leave Franklin, we get lost (yours truly was driving) and we ended up on Highway 31, which parallels I-65. You wouldn't believe the number of huge plantation houses we saw along that endless stretch of highway. Kinda glad we got lost; the freeway can be so boring at times... Rhoda dropped me off in Birmingham at Sarah and Charles' house for the next leg of my trip. Sarah and I stayed up until 2 AM unpacking her kitchen and drinking. Her new house is not what I expected. It's very cool!
May 17th: Moved all fucking day. Drank all fucking night. Thomas picked me up and we had breakfast at House of Pancakes in 5 Points. Great catching up with him. While I was waiting on Sarah to pick me up from the restaurant I sat on the bench outside and watched the freak show. The Christians were out in full force with their "Jesus Loves You" signs and singing whatever song they could think of.. Then there was random black guy that was drunk (at 10:30 AM on a Wednesday) with his shirt off singing that he needed to get laid among other things. On the bench next to me were two dirty old me that were selling pills to this skank nasty girl. Ah what a morning. So they picked me up and we moved all fucking day long. We ended up getting really drunk later on that night and yours truly sat on and broke this bird cage on Sarah's back porch. Oooooops.
May 18th: We sketch all day because we're all so hungover. I didn't feel guilty about drinking like I usually do because we deserved it! So we ran some errands and then Ryan and Brian picked me up for dinner. Lisa met us out at Surin and it was a lot of fun! I miss my friends so much!
May 19th: Part three of my trip. We wake up at 10 AM and head for Gatlinburg, TN for Amy and Chris' wedding. Let me first just start out by saying this: Never get married there. It's so tacky and kinda redneck. The mountains are beautiful and all but the town is just one big tourist trap! Six lanes of stand still traffic is not my idea of a mountain getaway. But I digress... We got lost about 10 times and we were an hour and a half late to the rehearsal dinner. If it hadn't been for Austin's GPS thing we would never have gotten there. Rehearsal dinner was a blast though.. Can't beat free food and wine! One of Amy's 50 year old aunt's was mackin on me and I had to hide from her most of the night.. I ended up staying with Sarah and those guys instead of Tim and Linda so I had to sleep on the floor. It was okay because we drank about 50 million beers so I didn't mind..
May 20th: That wedding was jacked up! It was in this small ass chapel in the middle of nowhere with this Elvis wanna be preacher conducting the ceremony. The chapel had 6 other weddings that day and you only had 45 mins for your wedding. The priest sounded like a used car salesman and he knocked on the wall to signal that he was ready for the bridesmaids to enter. G H E T T O! Then he had the balls to ask me to help him pick up the rose pedals that the flower girl threw out in the aisle. I just looked at him like he was crazy. The reception was at their cabin on the mountain. It was cool but it wasn’t the best place for entertaining. Even though it was a four story house, I still felt like there were people everywhere. Amy looked beautiful though and Chris seemed to be very happy. All in all it was a fun time. After that we just went back to the hotel and drank and then got in the hot tub. Fun times.
May 21st: I was so f'ing ready to get home. I had been away for too long and I was in desperate need of some ME time. I love my friends with all my heart but DAMN I need a break for myself. Julie and Austin dropped me off at Ryan’s house and he took me to my car in Tuscaloosa. I stopped by to see my uncle because his dad died last week. He seemed to be doing alright except for the fact that I think he's addicted to Adderal.
May 22nd: Slept most of the day to recover from the trip. Mom and I ran some errands but that was about all. I got my fat ass on the treadmill and almost died. To top it off I did my Pilates abs video and I couldn't sit up for the rest of the day. Finally called everyone back that I ignored during my trip.
Today: Came to work to make some money. Ready to leave already. Had no friggin clue Memorial Day was this weekend. Ooooooooooooooops I think I'm over booked already.
