“-and, and, and, Bailey’s face!” All 5 women collapsed into a fit of giggles at the memory, some sliding to the floor, others bracing themselves against the wall.
Arizona was fumbling with the keys to the apartment, still trying unsuccessfully to hold back the laughter incited by the memories from ‘girl’s night’ when she felt a warm arm wrap around her stomach. As she leant back into the embrace, she felt and blurrily saw another arm enclose her right hand and help separate keys.
After opening the door the women, all in varying stages of inebriation, tumbled through messily. Meredith and Teddy Altman were supporting a particularly drunk Cristina as they fumbled towards the couch. Meanwhile, Arizona was so distracted by Callie’s breath on her neck and hand on her stomach that she felt way more drunk than she remembered being less than 5 minutes earlier, and that was saying something.
Girl’s night had actually gotten more than a touch out of control. Whilst Callie and Arizona had brought two dozen beers for the group, Meredith and Cristina had come with a bottle of tequila, and Teddy with a bottle of Scotch to share. Bailey had been a bit apprehensive at first, but loosened up considerably after her first hit, and the first 3 beers. They’d all gotten a bit silly after the first 2 shots of tequila, and had abandoned baseball in favor of standing upright, and playing drinking games by the fourth. Callie had put Bailey in a cab around the fifth, and they’d starting walking back to Callie and Cristina’s place after the sixth.
The walk home had been littered with random outbursts into song and sometimes dance, and hysterical fits of laughter. As the most sober (‘sober’ being an incredibly relative term), Callie had designated herself as the one to look out for the rest, and stopped drinking, even as the tequila bottle was passed around on the short trip home. Right now, she was definitely giving herself a mental pat on the back, as she could just tell that there definitely needed to be one sober person in the room, otherwise Mark may have had to come over, and that would’ve been a whole other mess.
Thoughts of sobriety, however, were rapidly becoming less and less of a priority, as she felt Arizona shift her hips subtlety in her dizzy, drunken state, unintentionally grinding against her body. A heat that had nothing to do with alcohol shot through Callie’s body at the contact, and she exhaled quickly, her breath warm at the blonde’s ear. Arizona tilted her head, angling for a kiss from her girlfriend just as a loud bang came from their right.
As both looked over, Arizona couldn’t help but dissolve yet again into laughter seeing that Cristina had managed to fall onto the floor, the loud bang resulting from her arm hitting the table. Far from hurt, she was doubled over, clutching Meredith for support as silent laughter racked her body. Teddy had collapsed onto the couch next to the new Mrs. Shepherd, and had cracked open the Scotch.
Seeing that they were OK, Callie returned her attention to the beautiful woman in her arms. Arizona had her eyes trained as well as she could manage on the Latina’s face, her slightly glazed eyes a dark blue, a mischievous grin playing at the corners of her mouth. One pale hand clumsily wove its way through her raven locks, as the other hooked a finger in one of the belt loops of Callie’s jeans, pulling her closer.
“Caliiiiioppeee…. You’re so pretty. Like, really, really pretty. But hot as well. Super hot...” Callie had to smile at the blonde’s slurred words.
“You--" Arizona suddenly pointed at herself, with an adorable questioning look on her face, “Yes, you,” she accentuated the word, “are drunk.”
“That doesn’t mean I don’t know what I’m saying, Calliope. Why can’t a give my girlfriend a complace-complnt-- compliment?” she asked happily, wrapping one arm around her neck.
“You can compliment me all you want, babe.” Dropping a kiss on Arizona’s lips, she whispered, “I’d love to give you my thoughts about you, but we may have to wait until we’re alone…”
As the seductive tone in Callie’s voice dissipated some of the fog in her mind, the blonde began scrutinizing the three doctors currently swigging Scotch from the bottle, followed by random, out of context laugher which seemed to be centered on their knees. Satisfied that they were sufficiently occupied with their knees (which were just a little bit funny, now that Arizona thought about it), Arizona turned back to her girlfriend. “I think that maybe they are too drunk to notice if a giant white teddy bear suddenly appeared on the couch?”
“Hmm… You do, do you?” She went to steal another kiss, as the blonde started giggling again. ‘Not exactly what I was going for here, Ari. What’s so funny?”
“You said do, do. Doo-Doo!”
“You hang out with children for way too many hours of the day.” Although she couldn’t help the smile that tugged at her full lips as she thought about it.
“Well then maybe you should make me forget about children and childish things, Calliope.” That irresistible tone carrying that challenge made Callie’s body flush with heat, and she captured Arizona’s lips with her own, her tongue sweeping across the blonde’s lips, seeking entry, which was granted immediately. The kiss was hard and fast, and more than a bit clumsy, considering their inebriation, but it felt like fireworks were going off low in the blonde’s abdomen, sending sparks of heat radiating outwards.
Callie pushed Arizona gently towards the island whilst shrugging out of her jacket, before sinking to the floor on the opposite side to the couch, motioning for Arizona to do the same. When both women were seated with their backs propped against the island, the Latina peeked around the side of the island to check on the others. Noting that they were fine, attempting to remember how the Macarena went, she shuffled back around until she was facing Arizona, who was now wearing a slightly thoughtful expression.
“I don’t have a penny, but I’m sure we could take it out in trade… What’s that brain of you thinking about?”
“Alex Karev…”
“Seriously? If you were going to have a guy-crush I would’ve thought you would go with Derek, or even Avery…”
“Nooo… I don’t have guy crushes.” Arizona cut her off, “I was thinking about how he got to sleep with you before I did.” She finished with a pout, as they heard Cristina attempt to sing the Macarena.
“Oh, baby… Are you jealous of Karev? I gotta be honest; I find it incredibly hot on you…” Callie asked, leaning closer with a smile on her face.
“Well, I wouldn’t say ‘jealous’, exactly… I just- kinda, maybe, sort of threatened him with a brick today. So actually yeah, let’s go with jealous.”
“Arizona,” Callie brought a warm hand up to cradle Arizona’s cheek and tilted her head up until they were eye-to-eye, “You have no reason to be jealous of him, even though the jealously thing is kinda hot.” Cutting off Arizona’s response with a thumb across her lips, Callie continued, “No. You have no. reason. I never slept with Alex, it was just sex, and then I kicked him out of the basement- long story-” she added, at Arizona’s confused expression, “and it was only riding the high of the insane surgery we’d just managed to pull off. You, my beautiful girl, are the only one I want to sleep with. And have sex with. And do anything with. I feel terrible because every now and then I almost hope a child will come in with a broken arm or a sprained ankle so that we can spend the whole day together, but then I think of how sad you get whenever there’s a seriously hurt kid, and I stop myself. But that’s how much I want to be with you all the time.”
After a few moments of silence, save for Meredith and Teddy loudly correcting Cristina’s lyrics, Callie began to worry that maybe admitting that had been going a bit far. But then:
“I love you, Calliope.”
“I love you, too.” Callie reciprocated and pulled Arizona towards her, who tried to get one leg across both of Callie’s to straddle her, but lost her balance, and ended up knocking their heads together.
As both women winced and shook their heads of the pain, Callie looked at Arizona and couldn’t stop the full wattage smile that spread across her face. As the blonde returned that with one of her full-dimpled smiles, the brunette helped her up, and with some assistance, Arizona ended up where she wanted to be.
“My plan backfired anyway, because he ended up working with you.” She leant in, until their noses were touching.
“Well, if it makes you feel any better, Sloan spent the day yelling at him…” Arizona could taste Callie’s alcohol laced breath in her mouth, feel it on her lips.
“Mmm… “Licking her lips she continued, “Only a little. I’m sure you could make me feel better and forget about it though,” Arizona playfully goaded, placing a teasing kiss on Callie’s full lips.
“Oh, I’ll bet I can make you forget about everything except you and me, and-“ Capturing Arizona’s pink lips for a searing kiss before threading her hand through Arizona’s unruly curls and whispering in her ear, “how my tongue feels all over your body.”
Unable to stop the moan that escaped her lips at the thought of what Callie’s words suggested, she shivered, grinding into Callie’s lap, as she felt a hand being threaded fully into her hair. She felt herself being pulled in for another hungry kiss, lips clashing together in earnest. Callie’s tongue darted out to taste Arizona’s lips, which the blonde took into her mouth and bit gently with a moan before soothing it with a sweep of her own tongue. As their teeth clashed, tongues dueled for the upper hand. As Arizona grasped her raven locks, Callie’s free hand made its way under her shirt, alternating between rubbing circles on her lower back, and gripping her waist tightly.
Arizona’s left hand was underneath Callie’s top, snaking up her front, just brushing the undersides of her full breasts, just as-
“Oh my god! Seeeriiouslyyyy? Torres! You have a BEDROOM like, RIGHT there!” Cristina exclaimed loudly and drunkly, pointing wildly in the direction of the bedrooms.
The girlfriends’ lips parted as they looked up guiltily, past Cristina to Teddy who has a slightly surprised expression on her face, to Meredith, wearing a look of amusement.
“Oh, uh. Sorry, guys… Guess we got a little carried away, huh?” Callie asked sheepishly.
“That’s OK,” Arizona stood with little difficulty, pulling Callie up with her, “We were just about to head to the bedroom anyways. Calliope has a little, uh… promise to fulfill…” She began walking to the bedroom door, and Callie swore she put just a little extra bounce and sway in it.
“What?... Oh…” Callie finally remembered, ‘oh’-ing in a sexy undertone and practically leaping over the island to reach Arizona in the bedroom, “Oh, yes. Sorry guys, we’re gonna-just… Yeah. Night!”
Cristina shook her head, yelling in the direction of the slamming door “Hang on to roller-girl, Torres! She’s dirtier than she seems, I like that!”
““Dirtier than I seem”, huh?” Arizona was lying back on the bed, propped up on her elbows, as Callie shut the door and advanced on the bed.
“Oh you know you’re dirty!” leaning her body over Arizona, holding most of her weight on her hands and knees, Callie breathed a proposition in her ear, “Now… I believe I was in the middle of making you forget about anything other than me?”
“Already there, Calliope,” Arizona replied a little breathlessly, distracted by the torturous feel of her girlfriends lips ghosting along her collarbone, “But you know, those, um… thoughts, may uh...come back so- ooh!” Arizona was silenced as Callie’s lips were on hers suddenly.
“I plan on making you forget all night long, Arizona.”
"I love that plan."
