Here's the thing:
Amber is very smart. I know most of you don't know Amber except through my journal which makes her seem like a drunk and obsessed with Showgirls (the movie). However, she sometimes writes something that I completely agree with but don't have the ability to express intelligently.
One of those being why I don't like the movie The Passion of the Christ. More specifically, why it irritates me that movies like The Passion are defended so vehemently and for the wrong reasons by people that don't ever open their minds to anything besides What Their Daddy Taught Them. It's extremely hard to live in a place where everyone insists the Bible is infallible, and eventually you just give in to not discussing it with anyone. This is harder than it seems because it's everywhere, and if you personally believe in something so completely different than the majority of people around you-like, say tolerence and not shoving your religion down someone's throat-you want to tell people.
But the fact is, you can't because no one is listening. I'm not saying my personal beliefs are the Best and everyone should have them, but I am saying that I don't want to hear about Gay people going to hell. I don't want to hear about Catholics going to hell. I don't want to hear about keeping Alabama Christian or voting for someone because they go to church or liking a movie because it's about our Lord and Savior and every movie (except for those that do not portray him as anything other than a Perfect Sacrifice) that shows something Good about Christianity is great. I don't want to hear it. I don't.
Whoops, I digressed.
So Amber writes about The Passion except more coherently. And I think people should
read it.
