Is God flushing or something?
It's RAINING again! -screams, runs from Jersey in terror-
It rained last week, too, a sheeting, monstrous, monsoon of a storm. We live RIGHT on the edge of the mountain, so of course we got all the runoff. It flooded. -grump- I'm sure it's flooded again. I'm afraid to look. Didn't even get a chance to properly clean up after the last flood, and now it's doing it again? Gah, it's going to be TWICE as icky. I'm never getting a house this close to a mountain again. At least not without a damn good water-remover. We rent - the owners really ought to just shell out for a better pump and do something to prevent more water damage. Icky, yucky, yucky, icky damned flood water! The basement creeps me out. The only reason I ever go down is 'cause I have to do laundry. >.< Ick.
In other news: I'm gonna try and go to the DMV on Friday and get my new license. I am so sick of taking the bus. And I am praying, praying that nothing interferes this time. Seems every time I'm about to go be responsible and get stuff done, life drama interferes. >.< I WILL have my license before August! I still won't have a car... but at least the reason I have to take the bus will be lack of auto, not a lame lack of government-sanctioned license to kill with operate big hunks of metal.
People - friends and strangers - keep telling me I'm cute lately. I don't know what it is... Big confidence, booster, tho. Still, I want to know what it is! The constant attention is just odd for me. And I wonder if this is what life is like on the other side of the fence - constant compliments and the general public smiling at you for no reason. Odd.
Watched ECW on Sci-Fi last night, just to see.

Barbed wire and thumbtacks... -cringe- Ya know, tho I laugh at the antics and the over-the-top theatrics, most of the time when I happen to watch pro-wrestling, my mind is somersaulting through all the psychological and social ramifications of what is essentially a violent soap opera. The wrestlers, the babes, the audience, the commentators, the fans, the mentality of any and all involved... I'm just fascinated by it all. It occurred to me today, while a guy was buying both a pro-wrestling book and a manga, that the profile of those attracted to fantasy, scifi, anime, comics, etc... is probably similar to that of the profile of those attracted to pro wrestling. Not the same, but similar. Either way, it's all made-up, right? ;)
