(no subject)
the duke game was fun--we totally beasted...it'll probably be a long time(a year) before that happens again, and it was nice to be there. i couldn't find my gloves i bought, so i had to wear my high school ones, and i felt weird putting them on. i am such a loser. but, like i knew it would be, marching band is the only thing i miss from high school. and i do miss it, for sure. most people in CMB like college marching band better, and it is a lot of fun, and i love it, but i miss the closeness of the OL band. most everyone here had bands in high school about the same size as the band here, so it's not so much of a change for them. but i miss knowing everyone personally. and i miss being a leader. and i miss the competitions. buuut at least i'm coming home this weekend so i can watch OL on saturday, and i'm super psyched to see them, b/c apparently they're kind of a big deal now b/c they won grand champions. (congrats to everyone in band, by the way. i'm jealous.) oh well, i guess you have to take the minuses with the plusses (what the hell is the plural of plus?) of college. speaking of which, last night was wicked awesome. and i woke up at 1:30 today. and my suitemates and i get along great. and i'm becoming better friends with band people (aka the first-year clarinets). and hopefully there'll be another 1:30 run to the castle with the suitemates tonight. i'm so glad i wasn't right about us not being tight.
