everything is illuminated

Laying in the grass on the quad, shaded by the trees but illuminated by the sunlight, seeing a beautiful blue sky behing dark green leaves of trees behind the pages of my book...sometimes that's all it takes to forget, even if for just a moment, the stresses of life.

Made $40 bucks yesterday towards eliminating debt doing easy weeding. Most of it was stolen this morning when I took a nap in an empty upstairs lounge in the memorial union with my purse underneath my backpack on the table by my head. Stupid, stupid me.

I had a veggie burger at Ali Baba's yesterday with Jon, and as usual, I am surprised at how well a Persian restaurant does veggie burgers.

Everyone but Jon and Lindsey is out of town, and Lindsey seems to be so swamped with grad school work that she may as well be. The three of us still got a scrabble game and some good childhood stories the other night. Oh, and I saw Cat a couple of times, but she's leaving for Cuba. The Jason Webley/Andrew Bemis show the other night was great. Webley is such a good entertainer...his music is pretty good, some of it is much better than other parts, but the best thing really is the entertainment at concerts. He's touring again in the states (well, besides Burning Man) in November/December, he'll probably hit Seattle (where he's from), Ashland, SF, Davis (gotta love Delta)...I can't begin to express how much I think each and every one of you should see a show of his if you can. As Rob Roy here in Davis likes to say, he'll make you feel like a drunk kindergartener. http://www.jasonwebley.com/

My power cord to my laptop is officially broken. I need to pack up all my shit and move. Josh is in New York for a relative's wedding right now. He had better bring me back a damned good slice of pizza! Hey, speaking of weddings...mazal tov to two of you, even if it's for the health insurance. I expect a damn good wedding party when you get back to Davis!
