[Oh hey! She's got a pair of skates, too! Awesome!

Have a Norse god skating right at you, Harley.]

[He executes a neat stop -- he's gotten much better at this than he was that disastrous first day -- and waves right back.]

Hey. What's shaking?

Nice skates.

It's easy to get bored, here. There's no real fun to be had anywhere that won't get you droned.

[SIGH.]

Ugh, tell me about it.

They don't even have any decent places to rob.

I mean heck the last time we had any fun was when I managed to get the magic plant lady to turn the forest into a jungle for Ivy and even that only lasted a day.

[Ping. A girl after his own heart. He flings his arms out wide, frustrated.]

There's nothing worth stealing! Believe me, I looked!

Nothing lasts more than a day here, and if you try to burn anything down, not only does it go back to normal, but you wake up after a week-long droning!

...wait, did you say something about plants? I bet Pamela liked that.

Please, I've been here for almost two years now. There will never be anything to steal here.

....Pamela? ....You mean Red?

How do you know her?

[Two years? That's the most he's heard of yet. He'll have to ask her about that later. Their apparent mutual acquaintance is the more pressing concern.]

She's my wife. In name only, I'm afraid. She lives with me and cooks for me but she's about as affectionate as a nettle.

How do you know her?

She's my best friend. We're from the same place....

[Looking you over now. Not a good start Loki.]

[Did the temperature just drop, or is it him? Their earlier conversation tells him this is not a good girl to tick off--and if she's from the same place as a woman who can make him clean the whole house with a kiss?]

I see. Then we'd have run into each other sooner or later, I suppose. Nice to meet you anyway.

Your friend's a sharp one. In fact, she's the real head of the household. If I make a wrong move, she'll put me outside to sleep with the dog.

[When in doubt, emasculate yourself humorously. Old habits die hard. He gives a shrug and a self-effacing grin.]

[Snorts]

Of course. Red wouldn't take orders from anyone.

....wait.

What sort of "wrong moves" were you tryin?

[The temperature has dropped even more.]

[NOOOOT MENTIONING WHAT HAPPENED FATHER'S DAY. IT'S A LIE BY OMISSION: ONE OF THE EASIEST LIES TO TELL, AND LOKI TELLS IT WELL.]

You think I'm dumb enough to try something on her? Sheesh, the one time she kissed me, I found myself spilling my life story while I cleaned the house from top to bottom.

Told you, she's sharp.

[Folding her arms. Does not look happy.]

I'd better not find out you did somethin' ta her.

[Easy there, tiger, he learned his lesson!]

Don`t worry. The worst thing I did was wear roller-skates in the house. She got real upset about that.

[He winces at the memory, laughing a little. Then...he turns more serious, pensive almost. He`s telling the truth here.]

You`re a good friend to look out for her like that. I`ve got to admit, I`m a little jealous. My friends...didn`t turn out to be so loyal.

Alright....

[She seems to buy it. And the horrible feeling of doom will go away.]

Really? What happened?
