Flute Teachers.

H ended up with a new flute teacher last Friday. It is the nature of that place to give families zero lead time on changes such as these, but usually you know on the day of the last lesson so the student gets a chance to say goodbye to their previous teacher. I'm guessing being completely blindsided led to the offer of her lesson being run as a trial class with the new guy, thus getting H an extra makeup credit added to her account.

We waited till the end of the lesson for H to decide if she wanted to continue lessons. It happened to be the last day of the month and I had my checkbook and was ready to pay for all three kids for the next month when the new teacher news landed in our laps.

H liked the new guy well enough. He told me she's better than she thinks she is, which sounded about right. He's more organized than the last guy, who mostly just told H she needed to learn stuff and to look it up on YouTube (though he did seem to have a real passion for music theory and spent half of her last lesson with him, which happily was double length, on it, which H enjoyed).

Unfortunately H got sick this week, so hasn't had much time to practice, Ode to Joy, her assignment from the new guy. She happened to have the sheet music, because the old guy used it for scratch paper on their first day.
