So a few things to say today:
9/11 anniversary- it has been 9 years. I think it is absolutely important to remember, but remember without ignorance would be preferred please. I have more to say on that, but that is all I'm going to say right now. Also, that my husband is my hero. Not because he is a solider, but because he is a good man. He goes to work everyday because he does what he says he will do. He makes sacrifices for us, and our future. He signed up for the army because he knew he wasn't going to accomplish much staying where he was. He isn't a hero for going to Iraq and fighting a war. If you were to call him one he would just get annoyed. People are not heroes for fighting or doing what their government tells them, they are heroes for taking care of people around them- and for the what they give and do for others. It is a thing of significance- an important degree of separation from mainstream thought and reality. So my husband is my hero but that has nothing to do with 9/11. There are many heroes that arose from that day- people who helped others leave burning buildings, or went forward when others were running away. That is a true definition of ahero- someone who goes towards the danger, while telling you to leave, someone who enters when you are fleeing. i get so frustrated when people try to clump what my husband and I do every day into that heroism...we are not being modest by saying that we can not match that bravery and courage with our everyday actions, and it is disrespectful for those that did sacrifice and act on that day, to say otherwise.
Another thought, once I catch up from August I think I'm going to try this 30 days thing I stole from my old friend Amanda Mello...I may not going to blog every day, but I will try to make my next 30 entries work around this...we'll see how it goes. Might be a good chance to reflect and prepare myself for important life changes coming....
I guess I'm going to do this, starting . . . later.
