Okay maybe not the update to end all updates but we will see-
So let's see the 5th- day following the Christmas party- of December John and I went to the farmer's market at Kapiolani Community college to get our Christmas presents and some fresh vegetables. We did a made in Hawaii theme gifts with coffee, honey, oranments that said Mele Kalikimaka from the NEX, and a few little things like tea, jelly, and macademic nuts, we also went grocery shopping and had a bbq that night with the guys from John's unit. i was suprised how many showed up, just goes to show how much they like him:) We had a really good time just hanging out on the lanai and drinking some beers. Talking about Hawaii and army life. That Sunday we were supposed to run the Xterra, but decided not to, instead we slept in and then I did homework. I had two papers due that Monday, but I ended up getting an extension on one because I just could not concentrate after what happened at the Christmas party. Sunday night I was pretty much freaking about work the next morning- I didn't know what people were going to say or do, who was going to show up, turned out the 3 guys who fled showed up but didn't offer any information about the guy who most likely assaulted BS, he of course did not show up. We suspended the guys who fled than had a meeting with the rest. Durring the rest of th week life was busy with actions to get our stuff back from the guy who fled. He had a brand new truck and trailer of the companys. We arranged a storage unit and a pick up time, but the trailer was stolen, and the truck too big for the unit, Pam freaked out at me for not picking the right unit, and for not wanting to call the cops on the guy when we went to get our truck, and a host of other things, she gets mad about things with the company and with this situation with her son that she can not control, and she takes it out on me. Whatever, i got over it..needless to say it was a tough week. I forgot my ppt presentation for my final project in one class, finished my paper finally in another, and by the end of the week I was pretty exhausted. Luckily school was almost over, did one easy final on Friday, and had one left do do over the weekend- which I figured would be easy. So i took that Saturday the 12th to go on an Oahu Invasive species hike with John. We were spraying herbicide on Himalyan Blackberry, a plant brought here from Washington state from a guy who wanted to remind his kids of home, and refuses to kill the plant- way to go man. The hike was up in the Palolo valley, and the group was really nice. The off trail portions were nuts as we fought our way through uluhe ferns and slid down hillsides of pine needles as if we were snowboarding or sledding :) Afterward John and I went home to relax, watch holiday movies, and get together Christmas cards. That Sunday we went to the troop to decorate. I finally met members of the FRG, including the Lt's wife, who I hope will be a friend..have to call her today, while the guys are at NTC. We had fun decorating doors and eating food. Met John's new 1st Sgt, seems like a nice guy, and you know what not. That night I had a final with my last class, should have been really easy except she threw a lot of stuff we never studied on it. I freaked out about it the whole time, and most of the night, but the next day she e-mailed me and said althought I got a B on the final :( I got an A in the class.
The next week was the same- John working late, me enjoying my new found freedom, but not really by doing much. That Thursday was John's X-mas party at work, but he had to do DD detail, so we hung out on the perimeter and made sure no one was drinking and driving. Then we picked up some food of our own and watched Thursday night tv..although I think John fell asleep during it.
