thought I'd update... so in my last entry I talked about the cute painter working for my dad...
After a beer, I got the courage up to talk to him. He's from north carolina, here for the summer. That sort is PERFECT for the summer fling. I am here temporarily, he is here temporarily....its a nice match...
anyway he's pretty cool. laid back. Nothing amazing. Just a nice guy who likes "partying" and works to make money. He is a big fan of Eve6...I'm a big fan of eve6. I guess thats our main connection, other than that my dad is his boss. He likes other rock, like the stuff I grew up to (live, silverchair, the eagles), which is cool because I can at least relate to that. He's 18, his name is Josh (J.T. usually, but i decided I'd rather call him Josh), and he would like to make some friends. I would like to make some friends. I need something to occupy my time this summer, dammit! anyway, he gave me a couple cigarettes and I loved them sooo much (newports....fuck, that is my new brand if I can't attain cloves) so he said he'd buy me a pack and give them to me when he comes over tomorrow to work. I made a new friend. Huzzah! I gave him a beer to celebrate our new friendship...heheh.
so I think I'm gonna hook up with him. I said something like "well, I guess its sort of weird to chill with your boss's daughter" because it related to our conversation, and he replied "well...it could get weirder..." and gave a cute smirk. Oh yes. I know what you mean. eh heh eh hehh heh...
:-) I'm pretty confident that we'll have some fun.
other than that, nothing is new. I spent the day painting my toenails (gold with gold glitter) and then fingernails and reading my brother's new issue of Maxim.
I am so jealous of guys for their magazines. Stuff and Maxim, although somewhat sexist in certain articles, make me laugh, entertain me, and EDUCATE me. seriously! I learned how to stay awake all night effectively, thanks to maxim. AND they gave me an appreciation for cameron diaz, whom I used to hate. they are focused on more fun, entertaining things that women/teen girl magazines. They try to teach us how to put on make up, what clothes to buy, and what celebrities are "hot" this season. They teach us how to flirt and what guys want. They teach us to BE what guys want, while "supporting" independant women, feminism and all empowering female things........but they don't. What does makeup have to do with appreciating our true selves? What do flirting techniques have to do with being a beautiful person? FUCK teen magazine, FUCK seventeen, FUCK any other magazine that THINKS they can teach me who to be and yet empower me as an individual! Those magazines don't even entertain me. its hard to find anything decent to read in between the endless advertisements for makeup. But stuff magazine....so,they thrive on sexual attraction occasionally. but they also provide humor and try to steer clear of stupid lingo like "fab" and "happening" and every other lame word that teen magazines try to jam into their articles to sound..."hip". Stuff and Maxim make me laugh, and even provide articles I am interested in. odd, unique stories. Goddamn it. I am going to subscribe to Stuff sometime soon.
well. I spose thats all I really have to say for now.
