What a week

Ok so I haven't been writing much, not much to tell really. Until now...Thursday I went for a 2nd interview w/ U.S. Bank for a customer service position. It's pretty much the same job I had at Citibank. But it pays more, the benefits are better, and it's 1/2 a mile from home. However it's also nights and every Saturday and it's not 40 hrs. They consider 30 and up full time. I don't know how many hrs it would be, as close to 40 as they could get but it wouldn't be 40. So I'm considering taking it if they call and offer me the job. Considering how awsome the 2 interviews went I see no reason I shouldn't get a call in the next day or two. So Friday comes around and guess what happens at work Friday afternoon. I get offered a promotion. I was completely thrown off. It came out of no where and was really unexpected. It's for supervisor of our parts department. It's a pretty big responsibility and a pretty big deal. It does come w/ a raise and the possibility of another one down the road if I do well and can fix the problems they are having. The hrs are also 7-4 and no saturdays. Right now in the chain of command I have 4 ppl above me. As supervisor I will only have 2. I will be in charge of the inventory for our shop as well as 4 others as well as the inventory on the trucks of 50 technicians. I will also be responsible for ordering any parts that they techs may need that we don't have in stock or that they don't have & getting it to them. Brad and I talked about it a lot and I'm going to tell them that I'm going to take the job. It's still not as much $ as U.S. Bank and the benefits still aren't any better. But there is something to be said for liking where you work and what you do (which I do on both counts). And I don't know what may come at U.S. Bank it could be years before I was offered a step up. While management there is atainable it's hard to get into. At Ken's I'm happy, and as the company grows there may be more opportunity to move even further faster. I got this promotion in less then a year so that must say something about what they think about me right? Anyway that's my news for now. It should be a rather interesting week when everyone finds out what's going on. The next few months are gonna be crazy since i'll have to learn everything and try and straighten out the department at the same time but I'm looking forward to the challenge.

Wish me luck and if I don't see you before I hope to see you at the pajama party. I might even have to buy new pjs for the occasion.
