So if I recall correctly then the last time I updated I said I was going to return later that week and give more job details. Well the update never happened but I can certainly provide some job details. First things first, I never had to wipe Byron's ass (trainer's job). Second, most of my job was doing meal checks and making sure players weren't skipping out. I also did a fair amount of contract research which if you don't have to spend too long doing it can be kinda interesting.
There are assholes and great guys in any environment and the team is no different. There are guys who talk to me like I'm their accountant. There are guys who think I'm an insignifigant piece of shit. Then there are the guys who treated me like a real live person (i.e learned my name). Akin Ayodele is by far my favorite player. Jim Davis, Gerald Sensabaugh, Pat Thomas, K Thomas, Cortez Hankton and other guys all made it a point to stop and chat (or at least say hello) when we passed and definately rank very high on the down to earth, in touch with reality, scale. Speaking of which, Fred Taylor is awesomely normal. He's not as open as some other guys. He's very private but I always get the feeling he appreciates what he has. He's not above getting a shuttle ride if he has to (not many veterans ride) or coming to find me to check in (opposed to me going to him). It's hard to explain but the best way to put it may be that you could never tell that Fred Taylor was an uber-talented, millionaire stud by his behavior. He's just very normal and that's cool.
Now that I'm done gushing about my man crush on various players I have a few predictions I'd like to make:
1) Chris Hanson will return to the Probowl. Maybe a big deal, maybe not but he looks disgustingly good two years removed from almost cutting his leg off.
2)The Jags will make the playoffs. Once again not a shocker but I'm going more for what I think will happen than for any big surprise.
3)Reggie Williams will get 800-1000 yards, 12 TDs (big step up from 250 and 1)
That's really all I have now but I'm gonna come back with more (don't ask me when). I'd also like to make a Super Bowl prediction. I was all set to go with the Vikings until I remembered they were coached by Mike Tice (can't have the worst coach in the NFL win a Super Bowl). I'll take a good hard look and make a pick but I have no strong feelings for any other team (except for the Titans, who suck balls). Oh and Matt, it won't be the Patriots. I'd rather poop in my bed (and sleep in it)than have to listen to you talk about four rings.
