Speaking as a person who has grown up under labour driven political parties, it was hard for me to understand the differences between Democratic and Republican parties until I studied US history and came to live here. And even then it's still not really clear at times. Liberal and Conservative, Tory and Whig. There are usually 2 sides to every coin. We once had a 3rd party in Barbados ( it was democratic rhetoric driven) but it was really too much for a small nation and it collapsed leaving the two labour parties to fight it out and right now we are basically living in a monopartisan domination.
I don't think that people should get a free ride, and no, not everyone is born equal. So why does the constitution claim to uphold that tenet? Shouldn't it be, everyone who we think is deserving and are born under the right circumstances are born equal and all you other people can go screw yourselves, either that or play basketball or dance/sing like monkeys for us? Because that is how it is.
This view is taken from a foreigner so take that with a grain of salt. Obviously it works better for foreign nations when the government in control of most of the wealth, armies and aid are on our side. But as I have seen so far, the Democratic party seem to be the only ones who work with foreign nations to foster mostly goodwill. *sigh* I have to many thoughts on this subject that would get me into trouble. But I guess I'll say one last thing. Why is it completely acceptable that foreign students who came into this country on student visas no longer have rights?
Oh and I still love you Charlie dear, I was just sleeping. :-P
