So yeah, I saw The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift tonight.

I went into this movie thinking I would love it no matter what. And I come out of it strangely numb. NO, NOT JUST BECAUSE OF HAN. I mean, I knew it wasn't going to be the greatest movie in the world, but I thought asians and cars would make up for it. The racing was amazing, the dialogue in between had me falling asleep. It felt almost cut and pasted together. I don't know, maybe it's because I'm tired from working all day, and the movie was crowded, and I had a headache, but I just couldn't get into it. I couldn't really bring myself to care about any of the characters, none of them seemed to have any dynamic together. In the first movie, you had Paul Walker up against Vin Diesel, and it worked. In the second, you had the tension between Paul Walker and Tyrese, and it worked. Here, the only character that stood out to me was Han (yes, because he was hot, but also because he was the only one with any depth). And if you put Lucas Black up against any of the other characters (Han, Neela, Twinkie, D.K.) there's nothing there. At least, not to me. And I just realized I'm analyzing a Fast and the Furious movie, so I need to stop here.

Oh, Claire, Han's orange and black car was a Mazda RX7, heavily modified, which is why I didn't recognize it. (Not that I would actually be able to tell you what it was if it wasn't modified, but I might have been able to guess.) Elaine, Vin Diesel is half African-American and half Italian-American. To no one in particular, I feel the need to point out Sung Kang and Leonardo Nam are Korean, not Japanese. Suck it, Japan. You killed my soul.

And now for no reason, a pic spam, in tribute to Han. Not that he's actually dead or anything. He faked his own death to get rid of the Yakuza. 'Cause he's got the mad skillz like that. And he was smart enough to have a backup plan in case they found out about him stealing. And he was too damn pretty to die, so he didn't, end of discussion, the end, goodbye!

First, a picture of Leonardo Nam, who played Morimoto, D.K.'s crazy sidekick. Just to prove that he is not, in fact, psychotic, but rather lovable and adorable and I want to have his babies because they would be cute little asian babies.

In loving tribute to Han, the hottest and only worthwhile character in the movie.

Screencaps from the trailer. Yes, I am that much of a dork.

Lucas Black, to see if I can possibly give Ali a heart attack.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Paul Walker. (That Skyline he's leaning on is his actual car, when he's not drinking Fresca and crying for dogs, he supposedly likes to street race.)

I think tomorrow I'm going to rent some Leonardo Nam movies, because at least he DOESN'T DIE. Stupid movie.
